Sylvester has come through surgery beautifully and is now focused on one very important thing: FOOD! π·
Following his general anaesthetic, he needs to take things slowly to ensure he doesn't make himself nauseous, but we are gradually working him back up to a meal worthy of a little pig who has had a very big couple of days.
The skin on the underside of Sylvester's tail was healthy enough to be preserved. It was carefully folded over the area where his tail was removed and stitched into place, giving him the best possible opportunity for healing. We have no doubt that once he has recovered, he will be feeling much more comfortable.
We're also quite grateful that Sylvester can't see his newly bald little bottom! π
A huge thank you to all of the wonderful veterinary and nursing staff who are caring for Sylvester during his stay. Your skill, compassion and dedication mean so much, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you have done for our boy.
Sylvester and I will begin our journey home first thing tomorrow, where he can continue his recovery surrounded by familiar comforts and plenty of love. β€οΈ
