GROUP SOUTH EXERCISE

Today, Tennyson brigade members joined other brigades in the Hawkesbury’s Group South for some timely refresher training as we head towards the summer fire season.

Participants discussed and practiced tactics for controlling a running grass fire - working from a tanker operating in the black (already burnt ground); and tactics and techniques for moving water from a static source up a hill to tankers using pumps and relays.

It’s all about being better prepared.

It is a timely reminder for property owners and residents to also be prepared for the coming fire season and clean up and mow long grass, move combustible material away from buildings, check fire pumps and hoses, and make sure your roof sprinklers still operate?
