Many Genders One Voice

Many Genders One Voice is a Transgender, Gender Diverse, Non-Binary social and support group. Creating and supporting safer and inclusive spaces.

Many Genders One Voice is a Trans, Gender Diverse, Non-Binary, Sistergirl and Brotherboy Social and Support Group.

This group is made up entirely of volunteers from across the Trans, Gender Diverse, Non-Binary, Sistergirl and Brotherboy communities and their allies. Our Co-Ordinator is Dylan Barrett.

We were founded in 2011 in direct response to the stigma and discrimination Transgender and Ge

nder Diverse people were facing when trying to access gender affirming care. Over time the group has evolved from a health action group to a leadership, social and support group. The group holds a number events throughout the year, most notably Trans Fair Day, Trans Awards and Transgender Day of Remembrance ceremony and the lighting up of the Story Bridge in Transgender colours. 💜🌈 Happy Wear It Purple Day 2026! 🌈💜

Today, we come together to celebrate, uplift and support LGBTIQ+SB young people and remind them that they are seen, valued and loved for exactly who they are. 💖✨

Wear It Purple Day is about more than wearing purple. It’s about making a visible statement that LGBTIQ+SB young people belong in our families, schools, workplaces, sporting clubs and communities.

When we wear purple, we’re saying:

💜 You are seen.
Your voice, experiences and identity matter.

💜 You are valued.
You deserve respect, dignity and the freedom to be your authentic self.

💜 You belong.
There is a place for you here, and you deserve to feel safe, welcome and supported.

🌈 To every LGBTIQ+SB young person: your voice matters, your story matters and your future matters.

And to the parents, families, friends, teachers, organisations and allies who stand beside young people: thank you for showing up, speaking up and helping create communities where everyone can belong.

Let’s make our support visible today, and keep it going long after the purple comes off.

Today, 14 July, we celebrate International Non-Binary People's Day, a day to recognise, celebrate, and honour non-binary people and the diversity of gender.

Non-Binary is an umbrella term for people whose gender exists beyond the binary of woman or man. Every Non-Binary person's experience is unique, and all identities deserve to be recognised, respected, and affirmed.

This day is an opportunity to celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of Non-Binary people while raising awareness of the barriers many continue to face, including discrimination, misgendering, and challenges accessing inclusive healthcare, education, employment, and community spaces.

Everyone has a role to play in creating a more inclusive future. You can support non-binary people by:
💛 Respecting people's names and pronouns.
🤍 Listening to and amplifying Non-Binary voices.
💜 Challenging discrimination and promoting inclusion.
🖤 Creating welcoming spaces where people of all genders feel safe, respected, and valued.

Whether you're Non-Binary, questioning your gender, a family member, friend, colleague, or ally, today is a chance to celebrate gender diversity and recommit to building communities where everyone can live authentically.

Each year, from Sunday to Sunday in the first week of July, NAIDOC Week celebrates the rich and diverse cultures, histories and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Australians. This year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly," marks a significant milestone, celebrating five decades of culture, resilience, leadership and community.

At Many Genders One Voice, we are committed to protecting Culture and Country and ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are centred in our work. We honour the generations of Elders, advocates, artists and community leaders who have carried culture forward and continue to lead the way.

This year, we also celebrate the official NAIDOC artwork, Paralpi, by Yankunytjatjara artist Zaachariaha Fielding. The artwork speaks to movement through generations, memory, song and story, honouring the resilience of community and the continuation of culture for future generations.

As we celebrate 50 years of NAIDOC, we invite our community to listen, learn, reflect and celebrate the enduring strength, knowledge and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

🌈 Remembering Stonewall: Honouring Our History, Celebrating Our Communities

In the early hours of 28 June 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn in New York City. Raids and harassment of LGBTIQ+ people were common at the time, but on that night, the community stood together and fought back.

What followed were six days of protest, resistance, and collective action. The Stonewall Uprising became a defining moment in the modern LGBTIQ+ rights movement, inspiring generations of activism, visibility, and Pride celebrations around the world.

As we reflect on Stonewall, we pay tribute to trans women of colour such as Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera, whose courage and leadership helped shape the movement. While their contributions have often been overlooked, their legacy continues to inspire communities today.

Pride began as a protest. It was built on resistance, solidarity, and the belief that every person deserves dignity, safety, and equality.

As we come towards the end of Pride Month, we are reminded that the lessons of Stonewall remain as relevant today as they were in 1969. Across the world, many LGBTIQ+ people continue to face discrimination, exclusion, and challenges to their rights, particularly trans and gender diverse communities.

Stonewall reminds us that progress is never guaranteed. The freedoms and protections many enjoy today exist because generations of community members, activists, advocates, and allies stood together and demanded change. Their courage laid the foundation for the rights and recognition we continue to fight for today.

As Pride Month draws to a close, let us honour those who came before us, support those continuing the fight, and recommit ourselves to building a future where all LGBTIQ+ people can live with dignity, safety, equality, and pride.

Happy Pansexual and Panromantic Awareness & Visibility Day! 🩷💛🩵

Today, May 24, we celebrate and uplift Pansexual and Panromantic people, communities, and experiences, while recognising the importance of visibility, representation, and acceptance in all the diverse ways people connect, love, and build relationships.

Pansexuality is the romantic, emotional, and/or sexual attraction to people regardless of gender or as many say, “hearts before parts.”

Panromanticism is similar, but relates specifically to romantic attraction without sexual attraction.

Today is about visibility, pride, community, and reminding people that every identity and experience is valid and deserving of respect.

💚🖤 It’s Agender Pride Day! 🖤💚

Observed each year on May 19th, Agender Pride Day is a celebration of people who identify as agender , people who may not identify with any gender, or who feel they have no gender at all.

Today is an opportunity to recognise the diversity of gender identities and the importance of creating safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces for people of all genders.

Many Genders One Voice proudly stands alongside our trans, gender diverse, Sistergirl, Brotherboy, and Non-Binary Mob communities.

Today, we celebrate and uplift everyone under the agender umbrella. Your identity is valid, your experiences matter, and you deserve to be seen, respected, and supported.

Today, May 17, marks the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Intersexism & Transphobia 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🖤💛❤️

Since launching in 2004, IDAHOBIT has grown into a global day of action, visibility, and solidarity, a reminder that everyone deserves to live safely, openly, and proudly as themselves.

Today is not only about celebration, but also about standing up against discrimination, challenging prejudice, and actively creating inclusive spaces for LGBTIQ+, Sistergirl, and Brotherboy communities.

MGOV encourages everyone to take action today, whether that’s starting conversations, showing support, listening to lived experiences, challenging harmful behaviour, or reflecting on how we can all help build safer and more inclusive communities.

To the organisations, services, community groups, and individuals already doing this work: thank you. Your commitment to inclusion, respect, and equity helps create meaningful change.

This IDAHOBIT, let’s move beyond awareness and into action because every person within our LGBTIQ+, Sistergirl, and Brotherboy communities deserves to feel safe, respected, valued, and celebrated every day. ❤️
