We are now a senior club with Athletics NSW so athletes of all ages can enjoy competition. Boys and girls are offered a wide variety of athletic events in a happy environment with the emphasis on achieving personal bests.

Unfortunately, this week’s Come & Try session has been cancelled due to the ongoing wet weather.

Our 2026 competition season will officially kick off next Wednesday, 2nd September! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

If you were planning on coming along to give athletics a go, don’t worry! We will still be offering 2 FREE weeks of Come & Try during competition.

🇦🇺 Local Coach Heads to the World Stage! 🇦🇺

A huge congratulations to Temora Athletics coach Greg Wiencke, who recently travelled to the United States with talented young athlete Daniel Okerenyang for the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

Daniel earned his place on the world stage after achieving the qualifying standard at the Australian Athletics Championships. Greg has coached Daniel since he was just 13 years old, with Daniel regularly travelling to Temora to train as part of his preparation.

Last week in Eugene, Daniel jumped an impressive 15.50m despite competing with a heavily strapped injured ankle and taking off around 40cm behind the board. Unfortunately, he didn’t progress to the top 12 final, but his performance showed he has what it takes to compete among the best young athletes in the world.

A fantastic achievement for both Daniel and Greg, and a very proud moment for our local athletics community. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for the both of them!

🇦🇺 Oceania Championships Darwin 🇦🇺
Congratulations to Jorja Winfield on proudly representing the Regional Australia Team at the Oceania Athletics Championships in Darwin.

Jorja was honoured to be appointed Team Captain, leading the Regional Australia Team throughout the championships while competing against some of the best athletes from across Oceania. The competition featured athletes chasing qualification standards and selections for future international events, including the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Competing in three throwing events, Jorja achieved some fantastic results:
8th – Hammer Throw
10th – Shot Put
12th – Discus Throw

To represent Australia on the international stage is an incredible achievement, and to do so as Team Captain is a testament to Jorja’s dedication, leadership and commitment to the sport.

Congratulations, Jorja! We are incredibly proud of everything you have achieved and can’t wait to see what comes next.

🌟 Grace Shines at U20 Nationals in Brisbane! 🌟

Grace had an incredible showing at the Brisbane U20 Nationals in April. On the track, Grace placed 3rd in her heat with a WJQ time of 11.73, then powered through to finish 2nd in the semi-final with 11.80, before taking 5th in the final with 11.76 (WJQ). These outstanding performances caught the attention of the World Under 20 Selection Team Panel for the Eugene World U20 Championships—just narrowly missing out this time!

Not stopping there, Grace jumped to gold in the Long Jump, soaring an impressive 6.18m and proving her talent across multiple events.

Congratulations, Grace! Your hard work and determination is paying off, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for you 💪🏆✨
