Three days of Easter club activity at Temora with members having the added incentive of set tasks to follow for a bit of fun. GP dhtasks with relaxed starting. Find a friend and head off around the course. Makes for some very fun flying and challenging ourselves in conditions that would likely see only local flying. Lots of overcast patches to navigate and some slow final glides to make it home. Only one outlanding yesterday and the glider was back on the grid today. The supposed minority juniors and ladies made up more than half the launching grid. Thanks to all the members who came out to play and made the weekend fun.

Couple of members enjoyed the wonderful cumulus filled sky today. Even a heavy 30:1 TMG managed 270km. We expect the next few days and into the weekend to be well over 10,000ft so there will be lots of opportunities to fly some long distances. Come out and join us.

Temora Gliding Club is well into hosting the NSW State Gliding Championships with some awesome weather yesterday. See all the results at https://www.soaringspot.com/en_gb/nsw-state-gliding-championships-2025-temora-2025/results
Our volunteers will get scores out as soon as the challenging Seeyou software suite will allow and after we chase up the pilots to submit traces at 8pm!
We have made a particular effort to get some juniors entered this year and 4.5 (one is just out of official age) are here competing very competently, I think all in their first competition. Photos to follow when we get time.

Bit of eye candy today. Visited the Khancoban soaring party and despite the conditions not being fantastic we cheated and powered over the top. Fantastic views the camera does not do justice to.

Massive weekend at Temora Gliding - it was a "get current" weekend of flying & flight reviews with the added spectacular (?) of the AGM and dinner following!
Firstly, the committee for the next year saw few changes but most notably Tom Lennon coming in as Vice President - fantastic news and congrats Tom!! We also acknowledged the contributions and wisdom of Tom Gilbert by way of recognition as Club Patron.
The flying was great - proper cross countries both days under early spring conditions with Cu at 4,500' and 5,000' Saturday and Sunday respectively. The canola is a bit patchy this season due to the dry lead in but still very photo worthy.
Good turnout at our discussion forums this morning - we covered the integrity framework, airspace refresher, competition flying, airfield operational safety and more. Great interactive session - thanks!
What a privilege to be a part of this - well done everyone!!!

Temora Gliding Club staffed a display as part of the Youth in Aviation event at the airport today. Grant organised the displayed of the Janus, Pawnee, and his ASG-29 in its trailer. Tom sorted the loan of the NSW simulator caravan and capably guided each of the kids through a flight to a landing, (about half the time)! The logbook on the simulator showed a massive 93 flights today which we did between 8:30 to 4pm. I think we put on a good display and it seemed well received.

We keep fitting in good flying with the available weather - today was a good example with over 600km flown in total by four members and we're only 2 days into spring. Cu at 5,000' by midafternoon. We completed the first launch just ahead of a RAAF Boeing P-8 Poseidon conducting a missed approach - do a touch and go next time please! This Saturday we're joining in at the Youth in Aviation event organised by Temora Flyers Inc. The following weekend is our AGM and a weekend of club activity to prepare for the soaring season - members, come fly for currency and try the NSW Gliding simulator that's based here for a short period.

It was a very busy weekend at Temora. Below are just 9 of the 19 launches from the last 5 days. A new member, conversion into new type, a few AEFs and just short of 1000kms flown. Lots of happy club members.
