๐ LESS THAN 5 WEEKS TO GO! ๐
THE greatest Postie race this side of anywhere else is getting VERY closeโฆ and while we know the bikes are getting prepped, parts are being ordered and partners have been successfully teed up ๐ โ thereโs one small detail you mightโve forgottenโฆ
YOUR FITNESS. ๐ฌ
You might think the Postie is doing all the hard yakka, but someone still has to run that bloody thing off the line, smash out your laps at record speed, jump off, leg it through the changeover area, perform a running handover like youโre in the bloody Olympicsโฆ and then do it all again.
And yes, 100 laps sounds pretty manageable when youโre sitting on the couch, eating a 3 piece feed and talking about how fast you are to old mate whoโs never done 100 laps of anything in his life.
But it hits a little differently when youโre 75 laps in, your hands have stopped responding, your lungs are full of race fuel fumes and whatever the smoke is coming off the bike infrontโฆ and your teammate is standing there screaming:
โGET OFF! GET OFF!โ ๐
Meanwhile, your brain is quietly suggesting:
โMaybe we just fake a mechanical issue. Surely no one will notice.โ
So the question isโฆ how much have you actually trained for this nonsense? ๐
Because come race day, thereโll be no excusesโฆ
No leisurely little stroll through the changeover like youโre out for a Sunday walk.
No pit stops because your hands are cramping or your hamstring has โjust gone a bit funny.โ
Thereโs now less than 5 weeks. So get moving. ๐โโ๏ธ๐จ
The Postie Challenge is comingโฆ and your body is about to find out just how poor your life choices have been in the last 12 months!
