🌼 Term 3 is underway at Rawa Community School! 🐛

Wanyjalpa? Kuul Karti (School time) We’re excited to welcome all our students and families back for a new term of learning, culture and community.

There is lots to look forward to this term, with visits from Fair Game Australia , Grand Trine Creative and Santa Maria College bringing new activities, opportunities and experiences for our students.

Out on Ngurra (Country), the bush foods are in abundance after the cooler weather, and the desert flowers are in bloom, making this a beautiful time of year across Punmu and Kunawarritji.

We can’t wait to see what Term 3 brings as we continue learning together through our Two-Way approach, combining strong cultural knowledge with classroom learning.

📚🌸🌿 Welcome back everyone let’s make it a great term! Yaninpala!

Some of the best moments are the simplest ones. ❤️

After travelling to Port Hedland for medical treatment, Nyari and Nola are safely on their way home to Punmu with our wonderful Remote Area Nurse, Mel.

A stop near Marble Bar for an ice cream turned into a beautiful reminder that health care isn’t just about appointments and hospitals. It’s about kindness, companionship and making a long journey a little brighter.

Nyari and Nola are two of our most respected Elders and among the last of the pujiman (traditional desert people). They hold an irreplaceable connection to Martu culture, language and history, and spending time with them is a privilege for all of us.

A heartfelt thank you to Mel for going above and beyond to make sure they arrived home safely. We’d also like to sincerely thank PAMS and Jason for approving and supporting this pickup so quickly. It meant Nyari and Nola could return home to their community as soon as possible.

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness make the biggest difference.

Safe travels, big smiles and ice creams all round. 🍦❤️

When a remote Aboriginal community loses power, then water, then communications during a diphtheria outbreak, you’d hope the Minister for Energy would have answers.

Instead, Parliament was told there were none by Steven Dawson, Leader of the House representing the Minister for
Energy and Decarbonisation whose office is in Port Hedland.

Remote communities don’t need excuses. We need reliable infrastructure.

Closing the Gap starts with keeping the lights on.
