Congratulations, Nate! 🎉

A huge congratulations to Nate, who was recently presented with his Joey Scout Challenge Award! ⚜️👏

The Joey Scout Challenge Award is the peak award for the Joey Scout section, recognising a Joey Scout’s commitment, personal development and participation throughout their Scouting journey. Reaching this milestone takes dedication, enthusiasm and plenty of effort. 🌟

Well done, Nate — an outstanding achievement! 👏⚜️

🌏Wear Your Scout Scarf Tomorrow for World Scout Scarf Day!🌏

Tomorrow, 1 August, Scouts around the world will celebrate World Scout Scarf Day by proudly wearing their Scout scarf wherever they go – to work, around town or wherever the day takes them.

World Scout Scarf Day commemorates the opening of the very first Scout camp on Brownsea Island in 1907, where Lord Baden-Powell began the Scouting movement. It is a chance for Scouts, Leaders and former Scouts to show their pride in Scouting and celebrate the friendships, adventures and values we all share.

Members of the Taroona Scout Group are encouraged to wear their Scout scarf during the day and show the community that Scouting is alive and thriving.

Youth members can also earn the official 2026 Scouts Australia World Scout Day badge by taking part and wearing their Scout scarf on 1 August.

Whether you're a Joey Scout, Cub Scout, Scout, Venturer, Rover, Leader or former member, wear your scarf with pride!

🎉 Congratulations Emily! 🎉

The Taroona Scout Group is delighted to congratulate Emily Ezzy on being awarded the prestigious Silver Wattle at the recent Scouts Tasmania Annual General Meeting.

Emily’s Scouting journey began with Taroona Scout Group as a Cub Scout, and over the years she has continued to demonstrate an outstanding commitment to Scouting and to supporting young people. Today, she is a dedicated Cub Scout Leader with our Group and serves as Team Leader – Diversity and Inclusion for Scouts Tasmania. Emily has also contributed significantly to the wider movement through her service on the Scouts Tasmania State Executive Committee.

In recognition of her exceptional service and leadership, Emily was presented with the Silver Wattle by Her Excellency the Honourable Barbara Baker AC, Governor of Tasmania and Chief Scout of Tasmania.

Emily’s passion for Scouting, her commitment to fostering an inclusive environment, and her tireless contribution at both the Group and State levels make her a truly deserving recipient of this honour.

Congratulations, Emily, on this well-earned recognition. We are incredibly proud to have you as part of the Taroona Scout Group family and thank you for everything you do for Scouting.

👏 Well done, Emily!

🌏 We're proud to be part of a movement that inspires young people to explore, appreciate, and protect the natural world. Together, we're building a better future—one adventure at a time.

The outdoors is at the heart of Scouting — from hiking and paddling to camping under the stars, learning new skills, and exploring the natural world. 🌏

Through these adventures, young people develop a greater appreciation for the environment and gain a deeper understanding of their role in protecting it. Across Australia, Scout Groups are taking action through community clean-up events, tree planting projects, recycling programs, sustainable outdoor practices, and local conservation efforts that make a positive difference.

Scouts Australia remains committed to empowering young people to care for the environment and find innovative ways to protect our planet for generations to come.

Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.

Today, we take a moment to honor and remember the brave men and women who fought for our country.

Each year, Scouts across Australia come together for ANZAC Day ceremonies, paying tribute to those who served. On this day, we reflect on their courage, resilience, and spirit of camaraderie, acknowledging the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy.

Honoring the past, looking ahead.
