Entries are now open for the Brigalow Arts Festival 2026, proudly presented by the Banana Shire Regional Art Gallery.

As the Festival celebrates its 30th Anniversary, artists of all ages and experience levels are invited to submit work across a range of categories and mediums.

With over $19,000 in prizes on offer, there's never been a better time to be involved.

This year's Theme Award is: Movement
Important dates are approaching, with entry forms and photographs due by 1 September 2026.
The festival exhibition opens on 16 October 2026, showcasing outstanding works from across the region and beyond.

I would like to personally encourage all Taroom and district businesses to attend our upcoming Taroom Capability Showcase.

Friday, 28 August 2026
5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Leichhardt Hotel, Taroom

We currently have confirmed speakers from:
• Santos
• Powerlink
• QBuild
• Glencore
• Navigate

We are also speaking with several other organizations that may join the program.

This is a valuable opportunity to hear directly from organizations working and delivering projects across our region. They will provide brief updates on what is happening, the types of local goods and services they may need, and how Taroom businesses can connect with them and pursue future opportunities.

The presentations will be short and informal, leaving plenty of time to introduce yourself, ask questions and speak directly with representatives.

You do not need to be a large contractor or already working with these organizations to attend. Opportunities can extend to trades, transport, accommodation, catering, equipment hire, maintenance, retail supplies, professional services and many other local businesses.

It is important that we have a strong local turnout. When these organizations make the effort to come to Taroom, we need to show them that our business community is interested, capable and ready to be involved.

Even if you are unsure whether there is an immediate opportunity for your business, please come along. Building a relationship and making sure your business is known now may help open doors in the future.

I look forward to seeing you there and showcasing what Taroom businesses have to offer.
