🚒 Today is St Florian’s Day - also known as International Firefighter’s Day.

❤️ It's a time for us to thank every firefighter - past and present - for their bravery, dedication, and commitment to protecting lives and communities.

❤️ We pause to remember and honour those firefighters who sadly lost their lives protecting others. May they rest in peace.

On Sunday, St Patrick’s River Fire Brigade teamed up with members of the Lilydale Fire Brigade for a successful joint training day at a local landowners property in Targa.
A total of 16 members turned out to assist with the controlled burning of log heaps, helping to protect nearby STT plantation assets.
It was a great hands on training opportunity for our members, especially our new recruits. Covering pump operations, filling from a collar dam, drafting, and hose bowling. A great day of teamwork, learning, and community support. A special thanks to Lilydale members for giving up their morning to assist.

VALE Melissa Burr 1974 - 2026
Our Brigade is saddened at the passing of Melissa who was a respected member of the St Patricks River Volunteer Fire Brigade until her retirement due to illness.
For many years Melissa also served in a voluntary role as Secretary of the Nunamara Memorial Hall prior to its sale by the LCC.
Love and support to our fellow Brigade member and Melissa’s husband Jason and to her children Sam and Jorja.
RIP beautiful lady, you will be sorely missed ❤️

Just a reminder to local residents. There is a celebration of life event on for Dorothy (Dot) Dundas this Sunday from 11am at the Dundas homestead on Corkereys Road. For all those that knew her, and would like to celebrate her wonderful life, you are welcome. As they have no idea of numbers, could you be so kind as to contribute a plate of food, it would be greatly appreciated. ❤️ byo alchohol.

Please stay alert.

It may be autumn, but there is some warm weather forecast across the state tomorrow so it is important to stay vigilant.

🔥 Check any recent burns you may have had on your property to ensure they’re completely out and won’t reignite.

✅ If you start a fire, make sure it's fully extinguished – soak it, stir it, and soak it again to make sure it is out, and never leave it unattended.

👀 Be alert for smoke and flames, and if you see anything concerning, report them immediately by calling Triple Zero (000).

🔥 Remember, if you're planning a burn, large or small, remember to register it or apply for a permit (if over 1 cubic metre in size).
