Yesterday i walked into W Cosmetics at World Square, Sydney and had to stop and take it all in. This is what Retail Marketing done properly looks like.
A few things worth calling out for our community:
🎬 IP done right. Anua's display for their PDRN Hyaluronic Acid range is tied to Netflix's "KPOP Demon Hunters", complete with life-size character cutouts, holographic panels and branded merchandising. It's a genuine collab, not a slapped-on sticker, and it gives shoppers a reason to stop that has nothing to do with the product spec sheet.
🧪 Sampling that actually works. The interactive trial station lets shoppers self-select by concern (hydro plump, dark spot, blemish relief) before they spray. It's simple, but it turns a display into a decision-making tool, which is exactly what good instore design should do on the path to purchase.
🧸 Gamified discovery. The illuminated figurine wall ("Your World of Wonder Awaits!") borrows straight from the blind-box collectible playbook. It's not cosmetics at all, and that's the point: it keeps dwell time up and turns browsing into an experience.
đź’„ Considered zoning throughout. From the sculptural fragrance table under that ribbon light feature, to the pink "Beauty Without Limits" nook with its infinity mirror, every zone has its own mood, lighting and story. Nothing about this store reads generic.
This is exactly the kind of instore ex*****on we love seeing across the industry: strong permanent and temporary display work, genuine experiential thinking and campaigns built around the full shopper journey, not just the shelf edge.
