🎉 Celebrating an incredible 107 years! 🎂💐

We were delighted to celebrate the 107th birthday of our wonderful Banyula Lodge resident, Jean Watson.

Jean has lived a truly remarkable life, including serving as a RAAF nurse during the Second World War. In recognition of her wartime service, Jean was also presented with an Australia Remembers medallion from the Australian Government, commemorating the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.

Jean’s 107th birthday was made even more special as she celebrated surrounded by family and friends, along with residents and staff who came together to share in this wonderful milestone.

It was a beautiful opportunity to celebrate not only Jean’s 107th birthday, but also her extraordinary life and contribution.

Happy 107th Birthday, Jean! 💕

🐟 Ready, Set… FISH! 🎯😂

There were fish flying everywhere at Karingal Gardens when residents enjoyed one of our favourite physical games — Fish Throw!

There was no shortage of laughs, cheers and encouragement as everyone tried their own special technique to get their fish to land in just the right spot. Some gave their fish a few stern instructions before take-off, while others sent them flying with a very enthusiastic “WEEEEEE!” 🐟💨

And while everyone was busy having fun, they were also getting in some great exercise! Fish Throw helps encourage upper-body movement, hand-eye coordination, range of motion, concentration and motor skills, all while enjoying plenty of social interaction and friendly competition.

A fantastic activity that proves staying active can involve a whole lot of laughter too! 💚

Celebrating our amazing aged care teams 💙💚

For Aged Care Employee Appreciation Day, Bushland Health Group celebrated the incredible people who make a difference in the lives of our residents every single day.

Each of our homes brought its own theme and plenty of personality to the celebrations:

🦸 Alkira Lodge – Superheroes
Alkira embraced their inner superheroes, with costumes, colour, performances and plenty of fun.

✨ Banyula Lodge – Shimmer & Shine
Banyula sparkled for the day, with glitter, sequins, dress-ups and a special treasure hunt celebrating the wonderful people who make Banyula what it is.

🌈 Karingal Gardens – Colourful Celebration
Karingal filled the day with colour, laughter and creativity, with staff and residents getting involved in the fun and celebrating together.

To every member of the Bushland Health Group team across Alkira Lodge, Banyula Lodge and Karingal Gardens — thank you for your kindness, compassion, dedication and the care you provide each and every day.

A special thank you to everyone who dressed up, joined in the activities, shared a laugh and helped make the celebrations so memorable.

Happy Aged Care Employee Appreciation Day! 💚💗

Today across Bushland Health Group, we celebrated the incredible people who make our homes what they are.

From superheroes at Alkira Lodge, to shimmer and shine at Banyula Lodge, and a burst of colour at Karingal Gardens, our teams certainly embraced the celebrations!

But behind all the costumes, colour, glitter and fun is something much more important — an amazing group of people who bring kindness, compassion, patience and dedication to work every day.

To every member of our Bushland Health Group team, thank you. Whether you provide direct care, prepare meals, keep our homes running, create meaningful activities, maintain our spaces, support our residents and families, or work behind the scenes — the contribution you make matters.

📚✨ Then and Now: School Days Through the Generations ✨📚

Our residents recently enjoyed a very special visit from local children, who interviewed them about what school was like when they were young and compared it with school life today.

The conversations were filled with laughter, curiosity, and wonderful stories. One of the highlights was hearing from our oldest resident, who will celebrate her 107th birthday next month. She shared her memories of school from over a century ago, giving the children a fascinating glimpse into the past.

These intergenerational moments are so valuable, creating meaningful connections, preserving history, and reminding us that everyone has a story worth sharing.

A big thank you to the children and everyone who helped make this memorable experience possible. 💙

There's nothing quite like a morning outdoors to get everyone moving and smiling! 🌞

Our residents had a wonderful time enjoying a friendly game of shot put in the fresh air. With plenty of laughter, encouragement, and a little healthy competition, it was a fantastic way to stay active while making the most of the beautiful weather.

Activities like these help support strength, mobility, coordination, and overall wellbeing, while also creating opportunities for social connection and fun. It's always wonderful to see our residents enjoying each other's company and embracing an active lifestyle.

Every morning, you'll often find a group of our residents enjoying a gentle stroll around the beautiful grounds at Banyula Lodge. 🌿☀️

These relaxed morning walks are a wonderful way to enjoy some fresh air, catch up with friends, and take in the peaceful surroundings. Along the way, residents are also supporting their strength, balance and overall wellbeing—all at a pace that suits them.

Whether it's a short wander or a longer stroll, it's a lovely way to start the day with smiles, conversation and great company. 💚

👑 A Royal Morning to Remember! 👑☕🍰
We're taking a look back at our beautiful King's Birthday High Tea and sharing some wonderful memories from the day.
Our residents enjoyed a delightful morning filled with delicious sweet treats, endless cups of tea, plenty of laughter, and wonderful conversation with friends. It was the perfect opportunity to slow down, celebrate together, and enjoy each other's company in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
There's nothing quite like sharing good food and great company, and this special morning certainly brought plenty of smiles.
We hope our residents and their families enjoy looking through these lovely photos and reliving such a memorable occasion. 💙👑

🎩☕ A wonderfully whimsical Mad Hatter Tea Party! ☕🎩
Our residents stepped into a world of fun and imagination as they enjoyed a delightful Mad Hatter Tea Party filled with delicious treats, endless cups of tea, music, laughter and wonderful company.
These special moments are about so much more than sharing a meal. They bring people together, spark conversations, create happy memories and strengthen the friendships that make our community so special. Seeing so many smiling faces, hearing the laughter and watching everyone embrace the fun made it a truly memorable day.
It's these shared experiences that brighten spirits, encourage connection and remind us that every day is an opportunity to celebrate life together. 💙

After months of restoration and recovery, we're delighted to see our residents back where they belong—at home.

With the flood restoration works now complete, our Bushland community is together again, marking the end of a challenging chapter and a positive outcome for everyone involved.

This achievement reflects the dedication, collaboration and commitment of many people. We sincerely thank Paynters, Allianz, Sedgwick, Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers, our dedicated staff, and everyone who played a role in restoring our retirement living community.

Most importantly, we thank our residents and their families for their patience, understanding and resilience throughout the process. Your support has been greatly appreciated, and we're so pleased to see everyone settled back into their homes.
