I forgot to show off my lovely roo my son and daughter-in-law bought me a little while ago she's so soft ❤️ I named her josephine in memory of the lovely lady I got my reds from and the joey I named Marilyn after my little red I miss. Happy Christmas from me and all my animals. esp Wally the white jack Russell who is lucky to be here after being bit by a tiger snake recently

Today is WORLD KANGAROO DAY ❤️
A day where we can focus our collective energy on this magical and ancient species and remember how blessed we are to share their land with them and/or this planet.
Today is a good day to take a step towards their safety and return to them the absolute respect they deserve.
They were here before us and took great care of this land, a job we as a species are failing at. It is time to recognise that we are the students and they are our teachers. I for one am in awe 🦘

Big thanks to the lady in Tant who lets me cut her wooley bushes when I like, these guys and girls love it 😁

2 days ago I went to Naracoorte on the way I saw a cocky next to road I stopped picked it up it squawked and mum and dad flew over so I done the right thing and moved it to a safer spot so mum and dad would hopefully feed and encourage flight. Went back today and poor thing was in same spot I left it, no parents around so I couldn't leave it this time not in 30 degree heat didn't squawk this time don't think he would of lasted much longer had a drink when I got home leave him to settle a bit before feeding

It brake my heart to write this poor little Marilyn passed away in my arms on wednesday night I tried everything o save her but I think the antibiotics gave her the sh*ts and she just couldn't cope

26/02/2025

Well Marilyn is out of surgery minus and eye and it will still be touch and go as they inform me the infection may of already got in her bones! So they have had to order in very strong antibiotics lord knows what extra cost that will be. It's horrid we have to make these decisions $100 to put her to sleep or $2000 to keep her alive. Most would say it's just a roo opt for pts but we raise these animals from tiny babies fighting for them to live so obviously I'm going to fight for her just hoping she can fight too 😭

25/02/2025

Just dropped Marilyn back at vets her eye still bad so they are sedating her and having a clearout between $400 to $500 😱 I just hope it works this time as next step will be eye out $1400. Obviously cheaper to put her to sleep but I don't want to as she's the baby of the mo.

A couple of weeks ago I received another dog food donation from arc, bit of a delay in posting as I've been nursing Marilyn her eye still bad back to the vets wednesday. One of the bags of biscuits had a hole in so dotty has been helping herself she thinks I don't know 🤣🤣

Back at the vets with Marilyn more antibiotics and painkillers but she may need to have eye out or pts. But she's our baby of the mob so we are still persisting although prob going to have to weigh up the cost at some point. So fingers crossed this round might get it down
