🚨 Gympie Stockman’s Challenge – Round 1 Tansey Postponed 🚨

Due to recent flooding, the committee has had to make the difficult decision to postpone the event. This is especially disappointing as this would have been our first event since the 2022 floods, and we share in the disappointment of our competitors, supporters, and community.

The grounds remain very wet, clean-up is ongoing, and minor repairs are required to ensure all facilities are at their best. Several of our committee members have also been personally affected by the flooding and are currently managing repairs, which has contributed to this decision.

These photos show the aftermath of the flooding at the Tansey Showgrounds on 9 March 2026, followed by the clean-up effort held on 15 March 2026.

📢 Volunteers Needed – Tansey Showgrounds Flood Clean-Up

After the recent flooding, Tansey Showgrounds needs our community’s help to get back on its feet. We’re organising a clean-up this Sunday at 8:00 AM, and every extra pair of hands will make a huge difference.

If you can spare a few hours, please come along and help clear debris, tidy up the grounds, and support the community. Bring gloves, boots, and any clean-up gear you might have.

Yesterday’s flooding at Tansey Showgrounds has left a significant mess behind. Mud, debris, and water have impacted many areas of the grounds, and it will take a community effort to get everything back in shape.

We know how important the showgrounds are to our community, and we’re already working on plans to organise a community clean-up. 💪

A clean-up day will be announced soon, and we would greatly appreciate anyone who can lend a hand when the time comes. Whether it’s helping remove debris, clearing mud, or assisting with general tidy-up, every bit of help will make a difference.

Please stay tuned for updates about the clean-up date and what equipment or help will be needed.

Well, here we go again with flooding.
Let’s hope and pray the damage is minimal. The water height is well below what we saw in 2022, but there will still be plenty of work ahead to get everything ready for our Stockman’s Challenge in April.

Once the water goes down, we’ll be rolling up our sleeves to get the grounds back into shape. We’ll keep everyone updated and may call on a few helping hands along the way. 🤞🌧️🐎

🚜 Working Bee – Let’s Get the Grounds Ready! 🌿

With the Stockman’s Challenge coming up soon, it’s time to start getting the grounds looking their best!

We’re calling on anyone who is able to lend a hand to come along and help with a general tidy up around the grounds. Jobs will include:
✔️ Whipper snipping
✔️ Mowing
✔️ General clean-up and tidy

Even an hour of your time would make a big difference. Many hands make light work, and it’s a great chance to catch up with everyone while helping prepare for a great event.

Bring along your whipper snipper, mower, rake, or any tools you think might help.
