There are two colours every Australian knows to look for on the beach. Two flags that offer a place for everyone. The red and yellow. They mark a line in the sand that stands for one thing: saving lives. 🌊

Today as the Vice Patron of the Wide Bay Capricorn Branch of Surf Life Saving Qld. I want to acknowledge Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) as they launch the very first national Red & Yellow Day, a nationwide celebration of the volunteers who dedicate their time, energy, and courage to keeping Australia’s beaches safe.

Our Tannum nippers doing us proud this weekend at the Queensland Surf Lifesaving Youth Championships at Maroochydore. Representing our region proudly, congratulations to all athletes 🙌💙💛
**adding to this, several athletes made State finals and our March Past team pictured, placed 5th in the State 🥳🙌

Last month we were lucky to have Rick Hansen from Bendigo Community Bank with us to handover the gear trailer they have sponsored for the Club.

Bendigo sponsors our trailer to allow us to safely transport our boards, gear and equipment to training camps and carnivals.

The Trailer had its maiden voyage to Mackay at the start of the month for the North Australian titles where Tannum took out the below trophies as well as having a number of members selected for the QLD country team:
Pool Rescue 1st 🏆
Senior Point Score 1st 🏆
March past senior and junior 1st place 🏆

The Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club sincerely thanks Bendigo Bank's support in providing this great piece of equipment for our team to support our success for the year.

Nippers starts this Sunday, 12 October 2025 at 08:45 am at the Tannum Sands Surf Club.
To sign up please visit sls.com.au and select the red button JOIN NOW in the middle of the page.
Pool proficiencies will be done on Saturday, 11 October 2025 at 1:30 pm at the Tannum Sands State Primary School Pool.

Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club is excited to receive funding from the Gladstone Regional Council Grassroots program to support the purchase of new boards for our Junior Activities Members.
This will give members new boards to use and hone their skills over winter, ready for competition next season in October. Your support is greatly appreciated to help our members reach their potential.
