Huge thx to all eleven fellas at the hall on Sunday. They all really stepped up and smashed the task. Outstanding effort and huge pleasure to be amongst. Over 5.5 ton of blue metal and soil moved by barrow and shovel followed by netting fixed and buried on the nth and sth side of the hall. Big thx to Reece his machine and skills with his mini excavator really came through. Huge thx to Tom for his seamless organising and planning.

Massive thanks to everyone who turned up yesterday for the hall working bee - 'it was a really terrific turn out by the community and a good vibe there with everything and more achieved in such a short time.' - President Darren.
Cleaning walls, floors and windows, more rabbit proofing and setting up the fire pump. Cheers everyone!!

Big Shout out to the community turn out yesterday, I felt the Gathering at Tanja Hall achieved all it set out to do and was a successful little fund raiser (thx).My highlights were listening to the young and old giggling through Babe and in particular the opening few minutes with the children at the front laughing and excited as it began. Set up and pac down with the committee another one, lots of good vibes. Thx Volunteers, Filmmakers and Committee. (Could have done without the power outage mid way through :)) D

Tanja Hall Community Gathering, 25th October 2025 - Event Program

3.00pm - Doors Open for Community to gather and come together

Films
4.00- 4.20 pm - Local filmmaker Doug McClean’s short film on James Cromwell, who played Farmer Hoggett in Babe, and his activism since the role (2 loops of 9 min).

4.45 - 5.10 pm - Local filmmaker Vince Weafer’s films; Mangroves Kayaks Spiders 3 and Pre-solstice Surfing. Paddling local waterways and surfbreak (looping, each film approx 3 mins).

5.30 - 5.50 pm - Local filmmaker Yemaya Grace Maitri’s film Surface Tension. An arthouse film observing local waterbodies through an exploration of video and sound. Yemaya won the South East Short Film Festival’s debut filmmakers award this year.

6.00 pm - Cathy Griff’s introduction to the making of Babe and conversation around her husband Phillip Hernshaw’s involvement with the film.

6.30 - 8.00 pm - Babe movie showing

10.00 pm Doors Close

Food
Light meal included with each ticket; Smoky Chipotle Black and Pinto Beans
Meals will be served between 4.15 and 5.15pm
Meal is Vegan
Tea and Coffee will be available for self-serve
Popcorn will be available prior to screening of Babe
