The Lions Club of Tamworth Great Country Music Duck Race 2026, kicks off in the Peel River near the Gipps Street Pedestrian Bridge, from 10.00am Saturday 24th January after the Grand Parade. There will be 4 Corporate Races with 50 ducks in each race, followed by the Family Duck Race with 1,500 ducks. 1st Place for each race is $1,000, 2nd is $300 and 3rd is $150. Good luck to all!!!

Lions Club of Tamworth Country Music Great Duck Race 2026! Tickets are on sale now in front of Target Tamworth. $5 per ticket gets you a Family Duck in the Great Race and a chance to win $1,000 $300 or $150 in Prizes. Thanks to an outstanding response from our local businesses we will be holding 4x Corporate Duck Races followed by the Family Duck Race, commencing in the Peel River from 10.00am Saturday 24 January after the Grand Parade, near the Gipps Street Bridge.

A big thanks to 2nd place winner in our recent Great Xmas Stocking Raffle, Robyn Hayman, who generously donated her prize of a John Deere Tractor and bear to one of our favourite Service Projects, Ronald McDonald House Tamworth. Also to our 3rd place winner, Terri John, who generously donated her prize of a pushbike to a local charity.

As one of our Service Projects, The Lion's Club of Tamworth recently donated 4 recliner chairs to replace the 20 year old chairs being used by the Sisters of Nazareth. The Sisters have been caring for aged, sick and terminal residents of the Tamworth Region for over 80 years. Their activities are self funded and they rely upon the generosity of our community.
Past members of the now retired Nazareth House Auxillary, Joan Newly and Rosemary Bryant are photographed with Lions President Steve Hanna. Sister Paula Tran gratefully accepted the chairs on behalf of Sisters of Nazareth.
The Auxillary spent many years fundraising for the Sisters with events such as, a Golf Day at the Longyard Golf Course, the Nazareth House Fete, catering for wakes. These activities ceased during covid. Wouldn't it be nice if a new generation could liaise with the Sisters and create a new Auxiliary!
