This page is dedicated to cycling and cyclist in the Guyra community, from the youngest to the most senior and all those in between. Our vision is to provide regular and safe use of bicycles in all their forms and for all their purposes in the community of Guyra and surrounding area. In order to accomplish this vision we will promote and facilitate the development of cycling infrastructure to prov

ed a safe and fun environment that will protect our community and attract visitors to the area. Cycling is a low impact and aerobically healthy activity that can be practiced everyday and will deliver many health related benefits to regular riders, including lowering risks of obesity, heart disease and diabetes (just to name a few!). In the interests of helping people in the Guyra community get started there are already riding groups that leave from Rafters on a daily basis or a few times per week. All new comers are welcome to tag along and enjoy a morning out with us. For those who need to be at work early, there is a ride every weekday morning leaving from Rafter's Restaurant at 5:45am which is usually back before 7:00am. If you need a heart start, be at Rafters at 5:30 with a gold coin and grab a coffee. For the ladies wishing to join a casual ladies group there is every .... at ....

Or, why don't you start your own with some friends? Whatever, you decided to do, this page is a great place to begin if you require help or information about bicycles and or cycling in Guyra.

**** IMPORTANT INFORMATION - CHANGE OF ROUTE ****

We have just received some really bad news in regards to the Armidale - Kempsey Road that impacts on this years and future rides.

The road is being closed to ALL TRAFFIC for a NUMBER OF YEARS, so that rebuilding works can be undertaken. There is no way we can go to George's Junction and Willawarrin. It is completely out of our control. Believe us - we tried!

It means the 2023 Tour de Rocks will follow the same route as 2022. That is Armidale - Wollomombi - Guyra - Armidale. But, hopefully without the water from flooding - fingers crossed!

Day 1:-
* Armidale to Wollomombi with Morning Tea near the Wollomombi General Store.
* Wollomombi to Jeogla Station and an internal ride on the huge Property.
* Jeogla Station to Wollomombi.
* Overnight at Wollomombi - near the General Store.

Day 2:-
* Wollomombi to Lyndhurst Road (Kids Ride).
* Lyndhurst Road to Glassers Road.
* Glassers Road to Guyra Showground.
* Overnight at Guyra Showground.

Day 3:-
* Guyra Showground to Baldersleigh Road.
* Baldersleigh Road to Old Armidale Road / Boorolong Road.
* Boorolong Road to Bellevue Oval.
* Finish at the Bellevue Oval UNE.

We understand this impacts peoples plans for post race at South West Rocks. We wanted to let you all know as soon as we could.

The most important thing for you to do is sort out any accommodation booked at South West Rocks, change travel plans and let those know who were going to meet you at the finish line.

We know that accommodation is scarce in Armidale on the Saturday Night after the ride. Here are a few options we can think of:-
- Drive to South West Rocks (about 245 kms).
- Drive to Coffs Harbour (about 190 kms).
- Drive to Tamworth (about 110 kms).

We can also help with organising "billet" accommodation for you in Armidale on Saturday night. If this interests you, please drop us a line and we will see what we can do for you.

Ride information has been updated on the website. It contains maps, elevations, directions etc. Follow the link in the COMMENTS below to access it!

Oh, we are working on something special for Wednesday night in Armidale before the ride to celebrate 10 years. But, you will have to wait a bit longer yet.
