TACCO and Tamworth Regional Council staff will be at The Youthie throughout the day — come by, have a yarn, grab a feed and meet the team!

Careers on Country – Day 1 🌱

Today we welcomed approximately 100 Year 9 and 10 students from six schools across Tamworth, Gunnedah and surrounding communities for the first day of Careers on Country 2026.

Students spent the day connecting with 11 different service providers, learning about a wide range of career pathways and opportunities available both locally and beyond. From hands-on conversations to exploring future possibilities, the day was all about helping young people see what their futures could look like.

It was fantastic to see so much curiosity, engagement and thoughtful questions from the students throughout the day.

A big thank you to the schools, service providers and everyone involved in making the day such a valuable experience for our young people.

We’re looking forward to another great day tomorrow!

Dance rehearsals for the Aboriginal Showcase at the Tamworth Country Music Festival are kicking off this Monday at the Youthie!

👕 What to bring: Just your own black clothing for the performance
