Chairs, chairs, everywhere - and not a place to sit !
All of them are broken , or having a wobbling fit !
But our volounteers have managed to heal them all,
which means that if you sit, now - you definitely won't fall .

We also got a load of bags, whose handles had come off .
(When you want to carry things, that can be a little roff ! )
So we found a way to provide support
and now each bag again, does what it ought .

A lady brought in a Tiffany lamp ( a lot of leadlight pieces )
We're not leadlighters but we did our best and, now, it shines - with creases !
We replaced a sewing machine bobbin that had lost a screw.
Maybe it felt familiar - because it happens to each of us, too !!

Very little defeats our team.

A lady picked up her bag of canvases and paints
and the bag handle gave way !
She now has a pretty coloured floor -
which has not helped to make her day !
So we will have to make some straps
and ensure that they don't collapse !

The heavens opened - as they've done all week
and her umbrella wouldn't stay up.
She arrived - a sodden mess -
dripping enough to fill a big cup !

A third repair was a square tiffany lamp,
so pretty - but in pieces.
Something or someone fell on top of it !!!
and the outcome most displeases !

More dining chairs that have a wobble -
so it's like sitting on a rocker .
And, finally , someone managed to break
a heavy front door knocker !

So if you items we can fix, come to THE REPAIR CAFE
We put things back together, in our own special way.

Busy morning, today, probably due to the weather
First , a child's bicycle , the parents couldn't put together,
then, a bookshelf, that books escaped from , because there was no back
and a trio of dining chairs that made an ominous crack !

A lady sat the wrong way and managed to break her toe.
The only shoes she could wear had separated and were a no go,
so she brought them into us and we performed our magic
Now, the lady can walk around and she's no longer a tragic .

So try us out with what you have that no longer works or looks good
and we will return it to functioning and looking the way it should. ***

Today , we had a sledgehammer , that needed a new handle,
a lawnmower that wouldn't go .
a stick vacuum that wouldn't suck
and a brush cutter on go slow .

We also had a chair that someone sat on ,
a little too heavily, it would appear,
as the back leg got detached
and " take a seat " now instils fear !

So if you have items requiring repairing.
we are always happy to assist.
We like challenges and odd things -
even if they drive us round the twist !

Seems the people up here work in the rain,
or they are preparing for when the gokden ball in the sky appears.
as we've got inundated with garden tools , axes , mowers. shears.

We also got a garden chair for watchumg the grass grow.
a dressing table mirror for watching youself watching in style -
after all the grass can take a while !

We had a spade that needed a handlle
for when the watcher watched too long...
and a fork for lifting (the body ? ) which needed to straighten its prong.

Well, it's back to the grindstone - literally - with scissors, axes and knives.
What DO people do with their tools and machines,
that we have to give them back new lives ?!

One brush cutter was so abused, it actually lost its gears!
We, who love the machinery we use,
were almost brought to tears!

Yes, grown, strong men, really do cry, when tools aren't treated with respect.
They also whoop like children and teens
when they repair the damage or defect ! 😁

You should come and visit us. It's a noisy, emotional place.
Jobs can be stacked from wall to wall,
or it can be a miserably empty space ! 😂

We're always pleased to receive your items, and fix them, if we can.
Usually we do. Sometimes we can't, but we'll tell you. Not ignore them and let you hang .

So come along to THE REPAIR CAFE with the broken items you've got .
We're open very Wednesday and Friday 9.30 - 12.30 / 1.00

Hi, guys ,
I'm apologising for not writing the Friday verse ,
but I was dealing with something that had to come , first .
Because of your interest in my writing style ,
I've been working on something for quite a while .
I extended my verse into a book -
a political thriller - if you care to look ,
set in Australia and the United States -
and now .. I have a publication date !
It will be next month - June 11 .
it's taken sooo long , I've been yelling : " Thank Heaven ! "

What a miserable morning ! Wind and penetrating rain,
Can understand why you don't want to go out,
so I won't be pointing the finger of blame .

Aha! A brave soul has just walked in. She has shears for sharpening .
Unless she's going to use them to cut up the rug, this week, I can't see her doing, much gardening!

A koala that cackles, like a kookaburra - and rolls around in glee.
So hysterical - you laugh out loud -
but the dog got to the mechanism - and now it's not funny....

Someone just delivered a bike. Flat tyres and an its chain is loose.
Good to have when the weather's nice.
And saves on petrol. But this one's definitely not much use!

So, there you have it. Another selection
waiting for THE REPAIR CAFE to restore to perfection.

It was a sharpening morning ( sort of matched the weather )
We had chainsaws, scissors and knives .
You could call us the cutting edge ....
( I 'll ignore those Dad jokes sighs.... )

We had an antique rocking chair, maybe 100 years old
Great, Great Grandma had it when she was small,
then came Great Grandma, followed by Gran and Mum
whose own children are now, also, far too tall .
The original fabric has now given way
(although it was tough as old boots )
We are replacing it and strengthening the joints,
with a special strong fabric to suit.

We never know what we get in this place,
which can makes it quite exciting,
Every day, ordinary and strange things come our way,
so, yes , it's YOU, I am inviting
to bring to THE REPAIR CAFE every Wednesday and Friday
between the hours of 9.30 and 1 ,
any item that you would like fixed
and we'll let you know if it can be done.

Well, I missed Wednesday, because the network was out,
so I'm sorry that that re the day's nonsense , you went without ,
but we had an interesting assortment of things ,
including regluing some poor fairy's wings..
She went from truculent to as happy as Queen Tatiana
and Mum was able to stop losing her narna !!

Another little girl had tried to play with her great grandma s typewriter,
but the ribbon reel need to be very much tighter .
We sorted it out ; she's now typing away,
Maybe she'll become an author, one day....

Two wooden figurines came in, minus their tails .
How did this happen ? The imagination fails....
A pickaxe was blunted on both its blade and its pick side.
A little strange when the two ends have died.
The owner looked to be frail and slight .
Had she been doing something very wrong....or right ?

A wooden tray had both handle grips broken.
The lady's explanation remained decidedly unspoken !
We repaired it - with no questions asked.
We maintain discretion on the items we're tasked.
