RACV's My Country Road survey gives rural and regional Victorians an opportunity to share feedback on the condition and safety of roads in their area.

Community feedback has helped drive road safety improvements in the past, and RACV is again seeking input on roads that need attention. Participants can provide feedback on up to three identified road sections or nominate their own roads of concern.

The RACV has identified the Murray Valley Highway between Wodonga and Corryong as one of the most dangerous roads in North East Victoria, based on road design, conditions and crash history.

Are there others โ€“ if you think so, please complete the survey it takes just a few minutes and is open until 17 July.

As our libraries' Community Canvas exhibition comes to a close, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who took part, visited the display, and voted for their favourite artwork. It has been wonderful to see our libraries filled with creativity, colour and community spirit.

Congratulations to our Peopleโ€™s Choice Winners - Ruby from Corryong and Val from Tallangatta. Keep an eye out as their winning artwork will be featured on future Towong Shire Library cards.

And good news; Community Canvas to our libraries will return in December, so stay tuned for another chance to get creative and be part of the next exhibition!

Yesterday Corryong College held a Big Freeze event to help raise funds to go towards the fight against Motor Neurone Disease.

Towong Shire Council Mayor Cr Peter Tolsher went down the slide with his final words being "Wish me luck!". Big thanks to Corryong College for putting on a great event to raise funds for a most worthy cause.

Mayor Tolsher is already looking forward to doing it again next year!

Today we acknowledge Mabo Day, marking the 1992 High Court decision that recognised the land rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and overturned terra nullius.

We honour Eddie Koiki Mabo and his legacy and recognise the ongoing connection of First Nations peoples to Country.

As Council moves forward with Reconciliation through our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, Mabo Day is an opportunity to reflect, learn and support reconciliation in our communities.
