1.5 weeks! Until what we hear you asking??

It could be 1.5 weeks until school holidays. It is but it isn’t!

It could be 1.5 weeks until Angus gets a new pb. It probably is but it isn’t!

It could be 1.5 weeks until the winter solstice. It isn’t, only .5 weeks!

It could be 1.5 weeks until Ian is timekeeper. It is but it isn’t!

It could go on forever!!! What is in 1.5 weeks that we are celebrating (along with Ian timekeeping and Angus’ pb)?

70 years since the town shifted to the new site! Come along and help us celebrate this. Come dressed in your 50’s finest. Be that clothing for running or dancing!

See you this week for a run of the mill normal, special parkrun and then the following for an extra special one!

Event #165
13th June 2026

After a false start, event #165, V2.0 began on a fairly cool winters morning. This week 37 people ran, jogged and walked the course, of whom 5 were first timers, 3 or these doing their very first parkrun and 2 others visiting us and 2 recorded new Personal Bests. Congratulations to Seren who ran in 5th (a palindrome not less 23:32!) and to Lucy who was paced across the line by young Kaleb.

The event was made possible by 6 volunteers: Jacqui WARDEN • Bernie ROEBUCK • Frank O'BRIEN • Meg JENKINS • Michael EDWARDS • Ian CHIVERS. Thank you as always for volunteering, without you parkrun wouldn’t happen. The roster is looking healthy over the next couple of weeks with some gaps needing to be filled from 4 July onwards. That all important role of Report Writer needing to be filled! You can see the roster at future roster | Tallangatta Station parkrun a send us a message to volunteer for any roles.

Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Tallangatta Station parkrun Results Page.

Tallangatta Station parkrun started on 29th April 2023. Since then 1,356 participants have completed 5,239 parkruns covering a total distance of 26,195 km, including 810 new Personal Bests. A total of 145 individuals have volunteered 1,055 times.

Tomorrow is event #165 and then, a few weeks later, we join with numerous other groups in Tallangatta celebrating the shift of the Town.

Come dressed in your best 50’s gear (suitable for running, think high waisted shorts and tank tops, or not, think puffy skirts) on the 27th (or a couple of weeks early if you want to practice!).

Event #164

Welcome to Winter what a way to kick off for all our wonderful runners, walkers, and volunteers for Event No 164 with 49 lovely people braving the cold.

Parkun simply cannot happen without the generosity and kindness of our volunteers Deb ROBINSON, Chris TULK, Seren SUTHERLAND, Bernie ROEBUCK, Andrew WARDEN, Ian TREVASKIS, Michelle LAMB, Tania HARDING all their help. Volunteering is a great way to meet fellow parkrunners and enjoy the friendship and camaraderie that is the trademark of Tallangatta Station parkrun. Even if you have never helped before you will get plenty of help and guidance and most of the jobs are pretty straightforward - a volunteer sheet is available at the finish table each week for the ensuing 4-5 weeks if you’d like to put your name down.

The weather brought us great PB weather, we still managed to have 3 Personal Best times - so specials congratulations to Piper DE LANE, Jode LUKE, Charlotte LOUGHLIN.

Today we had a very secretive and hidden gem that didn’t declare a milestone. Patsy KIRK celebrated her 25th PARKRUN MILESTONE. A huge achievement and congratulations. Patsy you didn’t escape this one.

This brings us to our parkrunner of the week and to celebrate Pride Month 🌈🌈 our parkrunner is none other than Rhys MCKEE. Rhys brings the life and party of our community and his energy and love doesn’t go unnoticed. Normally showing up last minute or late this morning he showed up 15mins early not the usual way he goes. The biggest smile and heart is Rhys.

Good luck to all competitors tomorrow for Pub to Pelican in all categories from the kids dash to the marathon. It’s going to be a barmy day for it.

Thanks to Chris for this weeks run report and Bernie for the beautiful photos.

This morning 29 amazing parkrunners joined us for Event #163, where the weather decided to add a little extra excitement by sending some rain our way halfway through the morning. Fortunately, thanks to umbrellas, a trusty gazebo and plenty of parkrun spirit, the smiles kept coming!

Today we welcomed 4 first-timers, with participants from 3 different parkrun clubs! Also a huge congratulations to the 3 parkrunners who recorded new Personal Bests this week!

As always, a huge thank you goes to our incredible volunteers who made this event possible! Deborah ROBINSON, Jacqui WARDEN, Jack KILLALEA, Lucy MULLER, Yvonne FAGAN, Sarah JONES, Meg JENKINS, Ian CHIVERS.

Since Tallangatta Station parkrun began in April 2023, an incredible 1,341 participants have completed 5,153 parkruns, covering a combined distance of 25,765 kilometres. To put that into perspective, the Earth’s circumference is approximately 40,075 km, so Tallangatta Station parkrunners have covered around 64% of the way around the globe!! 🙀

Along the way we’ve celebrated 805 Personal Bests, while 143 volunteers have stepped up a remarkable 1,041 times to help make parkrun happen.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this week, whether you ran, walked, jogged, volunteered or cheered from the sidelines.

See you all next Saturday!
