The Yeahnahistans are Mike, Chris and Joel. A team entering in the 2016 Mongol rally - driving from London to Mongolia/Siberia. Our adventure passages the well paved roads of Western and Eastern Europe, to the patchier surfaces of the Middle East, and eventually through the non existent dust bowls of the 'Stans'. Not sure, (the route crashed google maps), but we reckon from the 1000 km scale we’re
in the 16,000 -17,000 km ballpark. The trip will test our map reading skills, our shock absorbers and our patience. There is no set route, no support and we’re only 70% sure that our Visas will get us into countries such as Iran and Turkmenistan. Luckily for you, you will be able to live the experience in the comfort of your living room/bed/desk as we bring you news updated from the trip! Why are we doing it? Well it began with a conversation last year that went something like this; ‘Should we do it?, Nah…well yeah…nah’. Some months later Margaret, (Chris and Mike's Mum, and provider of snacks to Joel) for whom this trip and fundraiser experienced a metastasis. Margaret died in March, and it was forgotten.. Until May, when it resurfaced and from there it was ‘Yeah nah…YEAH!’
The Yeahnahistans registered three days later, resolving to raise awareness and money for Rare Cancers Australia, as well as CoolEarth (think protection of rainforests that are at risk). Any solicited or unsolicited advice is welcome, and we’ll accept utterly useless additions to our car. The best we could ask for is a donation.
