Families consistently tell us they're looking for educators who genuinely know and care for their child.

We believe every child deserves to feel seen, understood and valued each day.
That's why strong, consistent relationships sit at the centre of everything we do.

Our Primary Educator approach gives children the opportunity to build secure relationships with familiar educators who understand their strengths, interests and individual ways of learning.

Because children don't just need supervision. They need connection, trust and people who truly know them.

Every decision we make starts with one question. What's best for children?

As a not-for-profit organisation, our focus has always been children, families and communities. We reinvest into our services, our educators and our learning environments because that's where it makes the biggest difference.

We're here to create meaningful learning experiences, support families and strengthen our communities.

That's what for-purpose looks like.

Consistency creates connection.

Early education is about more than the experiences children participate in each day. It is about the relationships they build, the confidence they develop and the sense of belonging they create within their learning community.

Attending care on consecutive days provides children with the opportunity to become familiar with their routines, strengthen relationships with educators and peers and engage more deeply in their learning.

At Gowrie NSW, we value the time it takes to truly know every child, because strong relationships are the foundation for meaningful learning.

Quality early education doesn't happen by chance. It happens by design.

It is created through thoughtful environments, skilled educators, strong relationships and a commitment to understanding how children learn.

For more than 85 years, Gowrie NSW has worked alongside children, families and educators to provide learning experiences grounded in research, respect and contemporary practice.

We know children are active participants in their learning journeys, and we create environments where their voices are heard, their ideas are valued and their potential is recognised.

Primary Educator Relationships aren't part of our program. They are the foundation of it.

Before children can confidently explore, discover and challenge themselves, they need to feel a sense of belonging.

That sense of belonging is built through everyday moments. An educator welcoming a child by name, taking time to listen to their ideas, celebrating their achievements and supporting them through new experiences.
These relationships create the trust children need to grow.

At Gowrie NSW, our educators take the time to truly know each child because when children feel seen, heard and valued, they are empowered to learn.

Play isn't the reward after learning. It is the learning.

When children build, create, negotiate, experiment and imagine, they are developing the skills that shape their future.

They are learning how to problem solve.
How to collaborate.
How to communicate their ideas.
How to persist when something doesn't work the first time.

At Gowrie NSW, play is intentional. Our educators create environments that invite curiosity and extend children's thinking because we know meaningful learning begins with what matters to children.

Quality early education isn't about keeping children busy. It's about supporting children to think deeply, explore confidently and grow into capable learners.

🍝 Creating, cooking and learning together at Kinross OSHC!

During our Winter Holiday Program, children at Kinross OSHC enjoyed a hands-on pasta-making workshop with Camilla from Good Plate Nutrition, where they discovered the joy of creating food from scratch.

Children measured, mixed and kneaded their own pasta dough, developing confidence, independence and problem-solving skills as they worked through each step of the process. They explored the importance of healthy eating through learning about β€œeating the rainbow” and how different fruits and vegetables help support a balanced diet.

With their dough ready, children rolled, shaped and created their own cavatelli pasta before enjoying a delicious meal made with their creations, featuring a roasted capsicum, garlic and ricotta sauce.

Experiences like this help children build practical life skills while encouraging curiosity, teamwork and a sense of pride in what they can achieve.

Early Learning Matters Week is a reminder that every child deserves more than care. Every child has the right to feel safe, belong, be heard and experience the kind of learning that helps them thrive.

At Gowrie NSW, these aren't just aspirations. They're embedded in our Children's Charter of Rights and guide every interaction, every learning experience and every decision we make alongside children and families.

When we uphold children's rights, we create environments where children feel confident to explore, express themselves, build relationships and influence the world around them. Because quality early learning isn't only about preparing children for school. It's about recognising them as capable, valued members of our community today.

This Early Learning Matters Week, we stand with the sector in recognising that investing in children's early years is investing in a stronger future for us all.
