A Remonstrance on Trial in Absentia
The Case of Sheikh Hasina and Others

This publication presents a detailed legal analysis examining due process, fair trial standards, and international law obligations.

At the heart of any justice system lies a simple principle:
Justice must not only be done it must be seen to be done.

We invite readers to engage with the full analysis and reflect on the importance of constitutional safeguards, judicial independence, and adherence to international legal standards.

Bangladesh: Granting Impunity for Crimes Committed During the July Uprising:
A Grave Threat to Justice, Human Rights, and the Rule of Law
International human rights organizations strongly condemn the July Mass Uprising Ordinance 2026, which grants blanket immunity for serious criminal offences committed under the guise of so-called “political resistance.”
This ordinance undermines the rule of law, entrenches impunity, and denies victims their fundamental rights to truth, justice, and accountability. No political objective can ever justify extrajudicial killings, torture, enforced disappearances, or other grave human rights violations.Justice must prevail.
Victims deserve accountability — not amnesty. The international community must act to uphold human rights and the rule of law.Impunity is not justice. Silence is not neutrality.

The Global Bangladesh Unity Network (GBUN) strongly condemns the custodial death of Ramesh Chandra Sen, a senior Awami League leader and former State Minister.

The right to life and human dignity does not end at prison gates. Repeated custodial deaths point to systemic failure and demand independent investigation, full transparency, and accountability.

Justice delayed is justice denied.
Custodial death is not a tragedy of fate it is a failure of duty.

The death of Ramesh Chandra Sen in state custody raises grave concerns about medical neglect, detainee safety, and the ongoing erosion of basic human rights in Bangladesh.

The international community must not remain silent.
