North Ryde Physie

North Ryde Physie North Ryde Physie Club is part of the Bjelke-Peterson (BJP) School of Dance. Individual and team competitions are held throughout the year.

A new syllabus of age appropriate choreography and popular music is provided by BJP every year. While competitions are not compulsory, most members choose to participate and are supported by fellow club members. Competitions are a great way to gain confidence and make new friends. Our club was established over 50 years ago, with Pam Purdon at the helm for most of these years. Pam has 52 years of experience in teaching Physie, winning Grand Champion in 1973.

North Ryde Physie promotes a great sense of fun, friendship and teamwork. Many of us have been life long members!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women who guide, support, and inspire our dancers every step of the way. 💐✨

Today we celebrate not only our amazing dance mums, but also the grandmas, aunties, carers, mentors, and all the special women who fill our dancers’ lives with love, encouragement, and strength.

Thank you for the countless lifts to rehearsals, costume fixes, cheering from the audience, comforting hugs, and unwavering support behind the scenes. Your love helps our dancers shine both on and off the stage.

Today, we get to celebrate National Thank a Dance Teacher Day and what better way to do that than by giving a shout-out to our amazing physie teachers!

These incredible women do more than just teach us the moves; they help us build confidence, friendships and a love for Physie. Whether it’s perfecting our routines or cheering us on during competitions, they make every class fun and inspiring.

So, let’s take a moment to appreciate our physie teachers for all they do! They truly make a difference in our life.

It has been 4 years this month since I started creating these crocheted dolls! Each doll is handmade to resemble their physie girl owner.
