To all Cretans of Australia and New Zealand. Come and join our brothers and sisters from the US, Canada, Europe, South Africa and Greece at the World Council of Cretan's (WCC) Convention in Hania next month. Cretans from all over world will come together to share experiences, hopes, dreams and aspirations for their Communities.

The WCC Convention will take place from Thursday23 July 2026 till Sunday 26 July 2026. Please see attached Flyer.

Take care driving in Crete this summer!

Last night in Darwin, the combined performance by the Cretan Association of the Northern Territory and the Cretan Federation of Australia and New Zealand closed the formal part of the two day GleNTi Festival. It was a great honour given to us Cretans by the organisers of the Festival.

After another great performance by the Canberra Hellenic Dancers and a passionate and emotional display by the OPA School of Hellenic Dancers, who dedicated their performance to the memory of the late John Halikos, the Cretans came out and gave the crowd a powerful display of Cretan passion and pride.

Thanks to the wonderful collaboration between the two groups’ dancers and the wonderful choreography they come up with, over 40 dancers in Cretan costume filled the dance floor and provided the crowd with a performance that won’t be forgotten.

This performance capped off a memorable and historic Cretan presence at the two day Darwin GleNTi.

Not only did the two groups perform on both evenings, the Australian Branch of the Venizelos Foundation had a stall promoting the great leader’s accomplishments and arranged a memorial service to mark the 90th Anniversary of his passing.

Ana Tsourdalakis also performed wonderfully with her band over the two days and evenings as well.

Our National Dance Group members volunteered and helped out at the food stalls and took surveys of visitors Then last night, right before it was time to leave, Dylan and Alexander got up played live Cretan music in an impromptu performance with our good friends Paddy Montgomery and Tony Iliou.
