CWA Sydney City Challenging the CWA stereotype, we're an enthusiastic, dynamic group who help make positive change to our community.

More than just ‘tea and scones’, we’re confident the CWA of today will continue to be a relevant force long into the future.

On Saturday, some of our lovely members had the opportunity to eat at The Spice Plantation, a Fijian restaurant in Alexandria, to celebrate our country of study this year, Fiji.

The food was delicious and a wonderful time was had! Thanks very much to our International Officer Kim O’Heron for organising!

CWA Sydney City Branch has again been nominated for a NSW Volunteer of the Year Award in the Teams category for Sydney City/Eastern Suburbs. At the awards ceremony, held today at Club York in the city, it was announced that there were a record 149,000 nominations across NSW in 25 regions. It was also revealed that there are an amazing 4.9 million volunteers in NSW.

The awards are held annually by The Centre for Volunteering to shine a light on the incredible unpaid work of volunteers, such as CWA members. Sydney City Branch was represented at the ceremony by Secretary, Alicia Kell, and Vice President, Lyn Justice.

They’ll be on sale at our next market stalls: Carriageworks on Saturday, August 22, and Concord Rotary Farmers’ Market on Father’s Day, Sunday, September 6. Keep an eye out for more details. And if anyone has any backyard citrus they’d like to donate, please get in touch.

We’d love you to visit us at our Christmas in July stall at Concord Rotary Farmers’ Market this Sunday, July 5. There’ll be jams, marmalades, pickles and chutneys, festive biscuits and our famous scones still warm from the oven – choose from plain, date or sultana. We’ll also have handmade Christmas decorations, beautiful greeting cards, crocheted hand towels and our Silver Anniversary wooden spoons.

Money raised will go towards causes that support women and children, which the CWA has been doing for over a century.

The market will be held at Cintra Park car park in Crane St, near Concord High School, from 8:30 to 12:30. There’s always plenty of parking. We’ll be there come rain, hail or shine. Come and say hello.

The CWA will be back at Concord Rotary Farmers’ Market this Sunday, July 5, with a fabulous selection of sweet jams and savoury preserves. Get in early for our freshly baked plain and date scones and Anzac biscuits.

If you’ll be celebrating Christmas in July, our marmalades are ideal for glazing ham, while our chutneys are the perfect accompaniment for roast turkey or chicken. We’ll even have a selection of Christmas decorations and festive biscuits.

The market will be held at Cintra Park car park in Crane St, near Concord High School, from 8:30 to 12:30. There’s always plenty of parking.
