Join the NSW Dolphin Census Day
for the South coast, Shoalhaven and Jervis Bay area.
On Saturday 30th May 2026, Coastal communities along the NSW coast will take part in the first NSW Dolphin Census - a statewide citizen science event to help map where dolphins are found across our coastline, bays and estuaries and the Shoalhaven and Jervis Bay will be a big part of the NSW Dolphin Census Day.
This data will help fill vital knowledge gaps and improve our understanding of dolphins in New South Wales.
Marine Mammal Research JB Jervis Bay will coordinate the south coast, Shoalhaven and Jervis Bay area. By taking part, you’ll help create a valuable statewide snapshot of dolphin presence and distribution, contributing to real research and long-term conservation.
