🌱 A morning of learning about living soil! 🌱

Today we were delighted to welcome Bron Holm from Your Earthfood to Sherwin Park Community Garden for a fantastic workshop all about living soil and soil health.

Bron shared her knowledge on what makes soil truly alive, the importance of supporting the microorganisms beneath our feet, and how healthy soil can help us grow stronger, healthier and more productive plants. 🌿🪱

A huge thank you to Bron for sharing her time, knowledge and passion with our community, and to everyone who joined us in the garden today.

We’re looking forward to putting what we learned into practice and continuing to build healthy, thriving soil at Sherwin Park Community Garden. 💚

🌱 What a fantastic morning in North Parramatta! 🌱

Today, Sherwin Park Community Garden popped up at the North Parramatta Community Recycling Centre for a free plant giveaway! 🌿🍅🌼

It was wonderful meeting so many people from our local community, talking about growing your own food and companion planting, and helping everyone pot up a seedling to take home and grow.

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello, and to our amazing garden volunteers who helped make the morning such a success. 💚

We hope all those little plants are now settling into their new homes and will inspire a few more people to get growing! 🌱

🌱 A fond farewell to Shiwei 🌱

Today at Sherwin Park Community Garden, we said goodbye to Shiwei, who has become a familiar and much-loved face at the garden over the past few months.

Shiwei has been visiting his daughter from China and has spent his Saturday mornings generously helping out in the garden. Although he spoke no English, it certainly didn’t stop us from finding ways to communicate, share a laugh and, of course, garden together. 🌿😊

It’s a lovely reminder that gardening really is a universal language. 💚

Shiwei heads home to China next week, and we wish him a safe journey home. Thank you for all your help, Shiwei. We’ve loved having you as part of our garden community and hope our paths cross again one day.

再见, Shiwei! 👋🌱

Winter in the garden

18/07/2026

🥬🥕🍍 A great morning in the garden today!

There was plenty happening at Sherwin Park Community Garden. Our Brussels sprouts are coming along beautifully, the carrot bed is producing perfect carrots, we enjoyed some delicious lamingtons over a cuppa, and yes, there was even pineapple growing in the garden!

It’s always a wonderful mix of gardening, learning, and sharing good company. Whether you’re keen to grow your own food, pick up a few gardening tips, or simply enjoy a chat with fellow locals, we’d love to see you.

Come and join us one weekend. There’s always something growing, something delicious to share, and plenty of friendly faces to welcome you. 🌱💚

What a beautiful sunny morning at Sherwin Park Community Garden. ☀️

The winter garden is absolutely thriving, with plenty of fresh produce ready to harvest.

There was a bit of fun this morning as we searched the garden for vegetables for Paul to cook tonight to impress his friends. The winning ingredients were fresh broccoli and Callum’s famous carrots. 🥦🥕

Unfortunately, the Brussels sprouts didn’t quite make the cut this time! 😄

It’s always rewarding to see the garden producing such an amazing harvest while bringing our community together.
