Continuing this noble mission, we are delighted, as in previous years, to celebrate Lhochhar (Ta Lho 2862 – New Year) in a grand manner by bringing together Sydney-based Nepalis at one place to celebrate with unity and pride. On this auspicious occasion, Tamang Society of NSW extends both a formal and informal invitation to all Nepali brothers and sisters living in Sydney to join us in celebrating Sonam Lhochhar with grandeur and harmony, and kindly requests everyone to mark this special day in their calendars. The program will feature outstanding performances by local Sydney-based artists, along with an insightful presentation on Lhochhar, the Tamang New Year based on the lunar calendar, by Tamang language and culture activist Pratik Ngesur. We are confident that your participation will help keep our Nepali arts, culture, and festivals alive and vibrant, making this celebration a grand success. On the sacred occasion of Sonam Lhochhar 2862, we extend our heartfelt advance best wishes to all Tamang elders—Nana, Ang, Jyo-Jyo, Ale—as well as to all Nepali brothers and sisters residing in Nepal and abroad. We look forward to welcoming the wider community to celebrate Sonam Lhochhar 2862 in a festive, inclusive, and culturally rich atmosphere.”
