Our First Club in the Spot Light is Blue Mountains Football Club

🌸⚽ Female Football Week at BMFC ⚽🌸
What an incredible week celebrating all things female football at BMFC! 💪💙

We kicked things off in style with fantastic female football prizes generously donated by our community—thank you for your support! We also hosted a special Female Celebration Day, bringing everyone together to recognise the amazing contributions of women and girls across our club.

A highlight of the week was our beautiful Mother’s Day walk-on, where female players proudly walked the field alongside their mums—or mums were cheered on by their daughters. Such a special moment captured in the photo below! 💕👩‍👧

Our senior female players truly embodied the spirit of giving back, supporting the next generation by:
✨ Attending training sessions
✨ Helping at our Come & Try clinic
✨ Connecting with younger players through fun activities like tattoos and sharing positive messages

We were also lucky to have a physio join us to educate players on female-specific injuries and injury prevention—valuable knowledge for all involved.

Throughout the week, our social media channels were buzzing as we proudly showcased the many incredible females who make up our club. And to top it all off, our field looked amazing, proudly displaying a strong Female Football message! 🙌

As if that wasn’t enough to celebrate—BMFC also received a grant to upgrade the lighting at Knapsack Fields! 💡 Another exciting step forward for our club.

We're Adam Jackson and Adrian Lloyd, the authors of Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller — and we're incredibly proud to share with the Australian football community.

Our children's football book has been selected as the 2026 National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) book — the first ever sport book chosen in the event's 26-year history. On Wednesday 27 May, over 2 million kids across Australia will read Luna Roo at the same time in schools, libraries and homes nationwide.

NSS will also be broadcast on free-to-air television through SBS

The big question now is whether Lowland Wanderers Soccer Club rediscovering their form and continue applying pressure on the leaders. and Penrith FC—after recording two recent draws—will be eager to and push themselves into the top two.

🟧U5–U7 – St Marys Convent, Gipps St
🟨U8–U9 – Wentworth Falls, Pitt Park
🟩Girls – Bligh Park, Berger Road
🟦U10–U12 – Jordan Springs, Village Oval & Colo, Cougar Park
