The Intellectual Disability Foundation of St George Ltd

The Intellectual Disability Foundation of St George Ltd A registered charity making a lasting impact. Proudly serving and supporting our community for over half a century.

Creating real work opportunities and personal growth for people with intellectual disabilities through our in-house brands — PackSmart, Specially Made, Knight & Georgie, and Hamper Co. IDF of St George is redefining what disability employment can look like — combining supported workplaces, nationally recognised training and innovative business units that give people real skills and real jobs. For more than 50 years, we’ve supported our community through a unique mix of employment pathways, skills development, social connection and hands-on training, delivered across multiple purpose-built business units:

🌟 Hamper Co – corporate gifting, personalised products and our wellness range including candles, diffusers, room sprays and bath salts.
🌟 Specially Made – an in-house wellness brand crafted by our participants.
🌟 Knight & Georgie Fine Foods – fudge, chocolate, popcorn, rock candy and gourmet snacks made in our commercial kitchen.
🌟 PackSmart – large-scale contract packaging with major national partners.
🌟 GameOn Academy – esports, digital media, gaming skills and tech pathways.
🌟 Real Bots – digital marketing, chatbots and business collaboration projects.
🌟 Specially Grown – our horticulture program in partnership with Bayside Council at the Bayside Garden Centre.
🌟 Employment Pathways Program (SLES + Certificate III Courses) – hospitality, retail and process manufacturing qualifications blended with real workplace experience. Across our Kogarah and Arncliffe hubs, we provide safe, structured and purpose-driven environments where people can grow confidence, learn new skills and be part of a modern, inclusive workforce.

Labour Day is all about celebrating work, and at IDF St George, it’s about the purpose, pride, and independence that work brings every single day.

Whether it is pouring candles, making chocolates, or carefully packing corporate orders, our participants put so much care and dedication into everything they do. Seeing their confidence grow across our social enterprises is what it’s all about.

To our amazing team, dedicated staff, families, and supportive community: we hope you're having a restful, safe, and well-deserved Labour Day long weekend! ✨

White, ruby, dark, or gold? Our team is expanding their skills! 🍫✨

We are incredibly proud to announce that our supported employees are handmaking and packing a new range of premium artisan chocolates for our social enterprise, Hamper Co.

From vibrant natural ruby cacao to intense 85% dark chocolate with a fudge centre, mastering the rollout of this new product line provides our team with fresh, hands-on training in tempering, decorating, (and most importantly, taste testing!) We love seeing their confidence grow with every new challenge they take on.

Which flavour would you reach for first?

Nothing says "get well soon" quite like a custom hamper of premium goodies. ✨

A big thank you to Rebecca for this recent custom corporate order for Hive Talent!

It was a pleasure putting this care package together. Packed with pride by our supported employees at Hamper Co, this is a gift that truly does good from the inside out.

Wishing the recipient a fast and restful recovery!

What happens after the final school bell rings?

For many young adults with disability, leaving school can feel like stepping into the unknown. But at IDF St George, our Youth Employment Assistance (formerly SLES) program turns uncertainty into real-world opportunity.

Swipe through to see how our two-year program works. ➡️

Instead of just sitting in a classroom, our school leavers gain hands-on, paid work experience across our very own commercial businesses, from barista training in our cafe to logistics with Hamper Co and horticulture at the Bayside Garden Centre. Participants get to try multiple industries, discover their strengths, and can even go on to graduate with a nationally recognised Certificate III.

No resume required. Just a willingness to learn.

If you have a school leaver in your family who is ready to build their confidence and career, send us a DM to arrange a site tour or call us on 02 8566 2800.
