Mother’s Day can hold many emotions.

For some, it’s a time to celebrate. For others, it’s a moment to remember, reflect and honour the women who have shaped our lives in lasting ways. These stories are a tribute to that love, that strength and the impact that continues long after.

At AGCF, these stories drive everything we do – from raising awareness to funding vital research that improves outcomes for women affected by gynaecological cancers.

Today, and every day, we stand with those remembering and those carrying these stories forward.

Happy Mother’s Day 💜

A powerful evening of community, connection and impact 💜

Held in March in recognition of International Women’s Day, the Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral Parish event was brought to life by the Ladies of Our Lady organising committee.

With AGCF Ambassador Dr Rosie McDonald presenting and an incredible group of women of all ages attending, $18,250 was raised to help fund vital gynaecological cancer research.

A meaningful reminder of what can be achieved when we come together to support better outcomes for women.

This pilot study looked at whether regular ultrasound monitoring could identify lymph node spread early – allowing many patients to avoid groin surgery and its long-term side effects.

While larger studies are needed, findings like these highlight how research can improve both treatment and quality of life.

Supporting research means better outcomes for future patients 💜. You can read the full article via the link in bio.

April is Youth Cancer Awareness month, with the important reminder that cancer prevention starts early.

The preventive Human papilloma virus (HPV) vaccine is made available free-of-charge, to all boys & girls aged 12-13 years throughout Australia. It is also available to young people up to 25 years of age, including university students who may have missed the school-based vaccination.

The HPV vaccine plays a vital role in preventing cervical cancer and reducing the risk of other cancers developing, such as vulval, vaginal, a**l and pe**le cancers, giving young people a stronger, healthier future.

Starting a conversation on the importance of the HPV vaccine now, can make all the difference later on!
