Meet our Creative Industries Scholarship recipient, Kriti Gupta, founder of In My Head. Sponsored by our supporters at the Scanlon Foundation.

Growing up across India, Australia and the United States, Kriti was always the new person in the room. Those experiences taught her how to understand people, navigate different cultures and ask better questions, skills that would shape a career spanning journalism, strategy, advocacy and media.

Today, she’s bringing those experiences together through In My Head, a social-first media platform helping young Australians better understand the issues shaping their lives while giving them practical ways to take action.

Through the scholarship, Kriti will grow In My Head into a stronger independent publisher while championing a future where media doesn’t just raise awareness, but empowers people to create meaningful change.

Meet our Business Scholarship recipient, Aayushi Khillan, founder of Body Buddies. Sponsored by our supporters at the Scanlon Foundation.

While completing an MD-PhD researching chronic pain in cerebral palsy, Aayushi saw how confusing and intimidating health information could be for many Australians. In response, she founded Body Buddies in 2020, transforming complex health education into playful, engaging products that help people of all ages better understand the human body.

Since then, Body Buddies has become a certified social enterprise, partnering with major hospitals across Australia, supporting more than 50 nonprofit organisations and donating over 2,000 products, while directing 50 per cent of profits towards health-focused charities, including Transplant Australia.

Through the Scholarship and mentorship sponsored by Wendy El Khoury, Founder and CEO of Wedded Wonderland, Aayushi will grow Body Buddies into a sustainable national platform for health education, helping even more people discover that learning about the body can be empowering, accessible and even fun.

Meet our Health and Allied Health Career Accelerator Scholarship recipient, Elham Wunimi Osman. Sponsored by our supporters at the Verrocchi Family Foundation.

After migrating from Ghana to Tasmania in 2023, Elham faced setback after setback on her journey to becoming a pharmacist. Instead of giving up, she kept moving forward, dedicating herself to community service, youth advocacy and healthcare while continuing to pursue the career she had always dreamed of.

Today, alongside her pharmacy studies, Elham volunteers with organisations supporting multicultural communities, older Australians and young people, believing that every challenge can become a stepping stone to something greater.

Through the Scholarship and sponsored participation in the Worldwide SHEroes Leadership Program, Elham will continue her journey towards becoming a pharmacist while strengthening her leadership and advocacy, creating more opportunities for young people and multicultural communities to thrive.

These remarkable young women represent the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives and changemakers. Each brings a bold vision, extraordinary determination and a commitment to creating lasting impact in their communities and across Australia.

Selected from an exceptional pool of applicants from first-generation migrant and refugee backgrounds, these five recipients will each receive tailored support, mentorship, professional networks and investment to help take the next step in their journey.
