My name is Marty, i live in Sydney, Australia. I was diagnosed with dry AMD in 2006. I am 56 years old. I have a degree in Science and am a very keen researcher on AMD and keep across the latest news on AMD therapies, lifestyle choices that can impact / improve AMD outcomes. I am somewhat 'skeptical' of some of the AMD foundations out there, in that they seem reluctant to publicise up to date studies on AMD and sometimes seem more interested in their ;fundraising' activities. I am not advocating anything regarding treatments for AMD, but am comitted to bringing the latest news about AMD research, treatments and future treatments and potential ways to slow progression of this disease. Most importantly, i hope this can be a place where we can support each other in our struggles with AMD and look forward to seeing lots of participation.
