A toothbrush may seem small, but to a child facing crisis, it represents dignity, care, health, and hope.

There’s nothing more powerful than seeing passionate healthcare professionals doing what they were born to do 💛

Co-founder Dr Nancy Ordakji was back doing what she loves most this week — educating, supporting, and caring for beautiful children in our communities through hands-on eye care and dental outreach.

At Mobileyes & Dental Foundation and Mobileyes & Dental Services, children always come first.

Behind every screening, every dental check, every pair of glasses, and every conversation is a simple belief:
every child deserves the opportunity to learn, smile, see clearly, and thrive.

We will continue going wherever we are needed — schools, shelters, community hubs, regional areas, and vulnerable communities — because real change only happens when care is accessible.

Sometimes the smallest intervention changes the entire trajectory of a child’s confidence, education, wellbeing, and future.

A huge thank you to Cumberland City Council for supporting the Mobileyes & Dental Foundation and helping us deliver oral health education and dental care kits across 4 schools in the Cumberland region. 🪥✨

Through this funding, we were able to educate vulnerable and culturally diverse children on healthy oral hygiene habits while providing toothbrush and care kits to take home to their families.

Parents cannot teach what they were never taught themselves. When we educate children early, we create lifelong change in health, confidence and wellbeing.

Together, we are building brighter smiles and brighter futures for Cumberland children. 💙

Today, on National Sorry Day, we honour the strength, resilience, and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At Mobileyes & Dental Foundation, we are proud to support First Nations communities through mobile eye care programs that help provide free glasses to eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients — because every child and every person deserves the chance to see clearly and thrive.

It was a privilege to attend last Thursday’s Harvard Club of Australia luncheon alongside inspiring leaders and to hear the insightful words of guest speakers David Thodey and Bill Ferris. Thank you also to Catherine Garrett-Jones, a passionate advocate for children, families, and education through her leadership within the Catholic education sector (CCSP), for your support and for joining me as my guest.

The conversations and insights shared throughout the luncheon reinforced something we witness every day across our mobile outreach programs:

Health and education cannot be separated.

At Mobileyes and Dental Foundation, we work directly within schools and communities because we know that early intervention changes futures. Access to vision care, oral health support, wellbeing education, and preventative healthcare plays a critical role in attendance, engagement, behaviour, confidence, and long-term life outcomes.

Last Thursday’s discussion was a powerful reminder that meaningful change happens when educators, healthcare providers, parents, advocates, and community leaders work together rather than in isolation.

Thank you to the Harvard Club of Australia for bringing together thoughtful voices committed to strengthening the future of communities across NSW.

We hear this every day from parents, teachers, and First Nations clients who are all eligible for free glasses. It’s heartbreaking. These are people who sometimes can’t even put food on the table.

That’s why many people won’t walk into shops and clinics in the first place.

At Mobileyes and Dental Foundation, we don’t turn anyone away. However, funding is tight, and the need is greater than we can keep up with.

We will be asking again soon for support for City2Surf. Please support us by donating, fundraising, or sharing with others who may be able to support our important work.

And if you need help for your clients or students, please reach out so we can come to you for a safe, trauma-informed, and inclusive on-site visit.
