A win worth sharing: the Fair Work Commission has found Qantas breached the LAME Enterprise Agreement by giving A321XLR Receipt and Dispatch work, including towing, to ground service providers instead of LAMEs.

The job security clauses in EA11 exist for exactly this. We've written to Qantas requesting they act on the decision without delay.

This week, ALAEA joined the Australian Aviation Unions' Alliance - AAUA in Canberra to meet with the government, regulators and parliament on behalf of Australia's aviation workers.

Over two days, the AAUA met with key ministers, senators, the ATSB and CASA to raise critical concerns about aviation safety, including Part 43 maintenance reforms, fatigue, cabin air quality, crew security screening and the need for greater worker representation in regulatory decisions.

The voice of Australia's aviation workers is being heard at the highest levels.

A huge thank you to our General Manager Glynn Sowter, Trustee Chris Burleigh, and Solicitor Brodie Field for representing ALAEA at these important meetings.
