Our book bin at 16 Bellingara Road, Sylvania is temporarily closed due to essential onsite maintenance.
We're incredibly grateful for the generous book donations our community continues to share. While maintenance is underway, we'll need to pause collections at our Sylvania site for a short time.

Donations are still warmly welcomed at 1 Rae Street, Randwick, and our team is busy preparing for the September Book Fair.

We expect the Sylvania book bin to reopen and begin accepting donations again from mid-October.

The 2026 Great Hall Book Fair, proudly presented by the University of Sydney in partnership with Lifeline Sydney & Sutherland, will run from 12–16 September 2026.

This marks our third year collaborating with the University, united by a shared commitment to education, community connection, and mental health support.

If you love books and want to make a meaningful contribution, we’d love to have you on board. We’re currently recruiting volunteers to help bring this year’s Book Fair to life.

What does loneliness feel like?

Loneliness doesn’t always look like sadness, and it doesn’t only happen when you’re by yourself.
Sometimes it’s the quiet feeling of being disconnected, unseen, or not fully understood — even in a room full of people.

You can feel lonely at home, in a crowd, or mid‑conversation. It’s a human experience, and many of us move through it at different moments in our lives.

But loneliness can shift. Connection can grow. Small steps — reaching out, talking to someone you trust, or exploring what support looks like for you — can help you feel more grounded and less alone.

Our Lifeline Book Fair is back from 12–16 September, and we’re building a wonderful team of volunteers to help bring it to life at The Great Hall, University of Sydney.

Most shifts are based right there — welcoming visitors, topping up tables, and keeping the space running smoothly as we raise vital funds for crisis support services.
