This week, we paused to reflect, listen, and act.
National Reconciliation Week (May 27 – June 3) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how we can all contribute to reconciliation in Australia.
The theme this year, “Now More Than Ever”, is a powerful reminder that reconciliation is not a one-time gesture but an ongoing commitment. It calls on all of us to keep walking the path of truth-telling, respect, and meaningful change - especially when it’s hard.
At Good Shepherd, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, and we recognise the strength and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Reconciliation is everyone’s business. Whether it’s by supporting Indigenous-led initiatives, working with Indigenous-owned organisations, embedding First Nations voices in our decision-making, adjusting our working styles to reflect the cultural needs or continuing to educate ourselves and others, we all have a role to play.
Let’s listen deeply. Let’s act with purpose. Let’s keep showing up.
