Just over a week to go until Club Weld returns to The Neilson.

What began with last year’s sold-out showcase has grown into an ongoing creative collaboration between Club Weld and the Australian Chamber Orchestra, spanning live performance, recording and new work.

On 17 October, Jonathan Yung, Patrick Li, Tua Hunt and Jerrah Patston return to the stage with ACO musicians and special guests, bringing their original music to life in a new live showcase.

Artist Talk with Samantha Snedden | 2026 First Nations Artist in Residence

Join us for an evening with Samantha Snedden, a Dunghutti and Wiradjuri emerging artist, weaver and producer

Guided by a deep connection to culture, community and storytelling, Samantha’s creative practice reflects the values and knowledge passed down through generations, particularly through the influence of her grandfather.

Working primarily in weaving, Samantha creates pieces that are both personal and expressive, exploring cultural identity, connection and place.

Come hear Sam share about her creative journey and residency, followed by a weaving circle led by Dr Virignia Keft, Muruwari artist and Samantha's mentor ✨

This October, Amani Haydar joins A Western Sydney Book Club to lead a conversation on Antoun Issa’s REBIRTH.

An award-winning author, visual artist, lawyer and advocate for women’s health and safety, Amani is the author of the acclaimed memoir The Mother Wound, which received the 2022 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for Non-fiction.

At ACE, Amani will guide a discussion around REBIRTH and its exploration of family, war, migration, memory and renewal.

Our ACE Italy tour began in Venice with the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, where we celebrated an extraordinary moment for Western Sydney artist Khaled Sabsabi, representing Australia at the Biennale.

Khaled joined our group to speak about his work and his experience of representing Australia. It was a rare opportunity to hear directly from the artist and to experience his presentation in the context of the Biennale.

The group tour of the Giardini and Arsenale also included the launch of the companion, a publication accompanying Khaled’s presentation at the Biennale. Our guests had the opportunity to attend the launch and celebrate alongside Khaled and those involved in the publication.

ACE Italy is a philanthropic initiative supporting Arts & Cultural Exchange’s work with artists and communities across Western Sydney, while offering participants the opportunity to experience some of Europe’s extraordinary artistic and cultural collections.

A Western Sydney Book Club returns this October with REBIRTH by Antoun Issa.

Set in Beirut from 1974, REBIRTH tells the true story of Issa’s mother, Laila Khalil, whose plans for love and marriage are transformed by the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War. Moving through war, tragedy, migration and renewal, the book traces one family’s journey from Lebanon to a new life in Australia.

Join Amani Haydar as she leads this month’s conversation exploring REBIRTH and its themes of family, memory, conflict and the meaning of home.

Friday 30 October, 6:30pm-8pm at ACE Parramatta.
