Australia is so proud to celebrate Ernst Krolke, who has been named a Membre d’Honneur of Skål International! This is extraordinary recognition of Ernst’s 26 years of service, leadership and friendship, sharing his expertise, championing good governance and, most importantly, showing up for his fellow Skålleagues time and time again.

A highly respected aviation professional and Australian Aviation Hall of Fame inductee, Ernst has also twice been named Australian Skålleague of the Year. Now, that’s a pretty impressive Skål CV!

Congratulations, Ernst! And thank you for all your contributions to our association. We are raising a glass to you in South Africa🥂🇦🇺🌏

I invite you to our next Club function: our lunch meeting on Wednesday 7 October.

After a smaller-than-expected September lunch, it is time to consider our October lunch meeting.
This lunch will revert to our normal sit-down lunch; however, you will have ample time to mix and mingle with fellow Skalleagues and guests.

In September, we obtained approval of another new member, bringing our Club membership to 25. Our new member is Susan Aitke from Sabre.

Please join us in helping all our recently approved new members feel welcome.

Following the excitement and strong attendance of last month's Cocktail Event, our June luncheon provided a more relaxed opportunity to catch up and enjoy good company.

While many members sent their apologies due to work commitments, family activities, and the all-important duties of being grandparents (a role that's hard to turn down!), those who attended enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of conversation, laughter, and great food.

With a smaller group, some of us took the opportunity to try something different from the menu. The Barramundi received glowing reviews, while the veal proved to be a delicious and satisfying choice.

As always, one of the highlights was the lively discussion around the table, covering everything from travel and tourism to current events and plenty in between.

We look forward to welcoming members and guests to our next luncheon on the first Wednesday of next month at 12:30 pm at the South Sydney Graphic Arts Club. If you haven't joined us before, we'd love to see you there!
