Dear Skalleagues,
Our next Club event will be a networking whilst eating event. A change for this month's meeting. Normally a sit-down affair, this meeting will be held on the Graphic Arts Club's terrace with finger food. This will allow everyone to move around and chat to the other attendees.

On behalf of President Simon, I invite you to attend this Club function on Wednesday, 2 September, 2026.

Our August 2026 Ladies Day Luncheon was an outstanding success, with a turnout that exceeded all expectations. A total of 23 people attended, creating a wonderful atmosphere of friendship, networking and lively conversation.
We were especially pleased to welcome 11 ladies to the luncheon, including three SKÅL Sydney South members and eight guests. It was fantastic to see so many new faces joining us and experiencing that which makes our club so special.
Our guest speaker, Alison Greer, Managing Director and founder of EnPerSo Leisure Travel, delivered an engaging and heartfelt presentation. Alison spoke candidly about the challenges women often face in the travel industry as they balance motherhood with the demands of senior executive roles. She also shared her personal journey, explaining how she has reshaped her work-life balance to spend more quality time with her family and embrace motherhood in a more meaningful way. Her honesty, warmth and openness resonated with everyone in the room, and her story was both inspiring and thought-provoking.
We were also delighted to welcome five members from SKÅL International Sydney North, including Scott Thompson and Franz Rupp, both founding members of SKÅL International Sydney South. Their presence added to the occasion and highlighted the strong friendships and connections that exist between our clubs.
On top of all this, we have the opportunity to induct Brenda Farrelly, here seen with President Simon.
The afternoon was a wonderful reminder of what SKÅL is all about—bringing together tourism professionals to build friendships, exchange ideas and enjoy each other's company.

Our next Club event – Ladies Day Lunch – Wednesday 5 August at 12.30pm.
All ladies are complimentary for this lunch.

On behalf of President Simon, I invite you to attend our next Club function, being our Ladies Day Lunch, on Wednesday, 5 August, 2026.
All Ladies are welcome as guests of Skal International Sydney South - there is no charge applicable for Lady members of our Club, guests or visitors.
As President Simon advises, "this is a small way all the men in our Club can say thank you to the ladies for all they do throughout the year".

We are waiting for confirmation on a guest speaker - as soon as available, we will advise details.

Our July lunch was highly entertaining and got the month off to a really good start for us. Two potential new members were in attendance.
We are delighted to advise that, on 2 July, Skal International approved the membership of 4 new lady members to our Club. Our membership continues to grow - watch for news on further new members.

Following the excitement and strong attendance of last month's Cocktail Event, our June luncheon provided a more relaxed opportunity to catch up and enjoy good company.

While many members sent their apologies due to work commitments, family activities, and the all-important duties of being grandparents (a role that's hard to turn down!), those who attended enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of conversation, laughter, and great food.

With a smaller group, some of us took the opportunity to try something different from the menu. The Barramundi received glowing reviews, while the veal proved to be a delicious and satisfying choice.

As always, one of the highlights was the lively discussion around the table, covering everything from travel and tourism to current events and plenty in between.

We look forward to welcoming members and guests to our next luncheon on the first Wednesday of next month at 12:30 pm at the South Sydney Graphic Arts Club. If you haven't joined us before, we'd love to see you there!

A fantastic turnout for our May evening meeting — also known as our ever-popular Cocktail Party!

Members and guests enjoyed a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, making it the perfect opportunity to reconnect, share stories, and get to know each other a little better.

President Simon officially welcomed everyone, and Fiona from Sabre, our evening sponsor, gave an insightful update on the many changes taking place in the industry, at Sabre, and on the road ahead during these interesting times.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success. We’re already looking forward to seeing everyone again in June when we return to our traditional sit-down luncheon format.
