Both Marine Rescue Middle Harbour vessels were deployed on Saturday to assist in the search for an 11-year-old boy reported missing near Clontarf Baths.

Our volunteer crews searched the area before receiving the welcome news that the boy had been found onshore, and both vessels were stood down.

Thank you to our volunteers for being ready to respond when our community needs help.

Saturday was busy on the water and so was our volunteer rescue team. This tow came with a pretty spectacular backdrop.
Our Marine Rescue Middle Harbour volunteers were out on Sydney Harbour, with the Opera House in view, helping a boatie get safely back to shore. Just another day on one of the world’s most beautiful waterways.

August kept Marine Rescue NSW volunteers busy across the state. These clips offer a glimpse of the work behind the numbers in the Reel.

With the spring school holidays approaching, take a few minutes before you launch: check your fuel, battery, engine and the weather, wear a lifejacket, and Log On with Marine Rescue NSW.

A little preparation can prevent a call for help. Thank you to the volunteers who answer when one comes.

Congratulations to our very own Simon Fennen, who represented Marine Rescue NSW Team 1 at the 2026 Australasian Rescue Organisation Boat Challenge.

Simon joined Glenn Wright from Marine Rescue Sussex Inlet and Guy Youngblutt from Marine Rescue Point Danger, with the team taking out the Champions of Safety Award.

A fantastic display of skill, teamwork and safe rescue boat operations. Well done, team! 🚤👏

Congratulations to Brad from Bravo Watch on passing his Coxswain Restricted AO qualification! 🎉⚓

Brad joined Marine Rescue 2½ years ago and is the Deputy Duty Officer for Bravo Watch. Outside of Marine Rescue, he’s also a passionate Concours competitor.
