Muharram is not just the beginning of a new year — it is “the month of Allah”, as described by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

No other month was given this unique honour. A reminder of its immense virtue, sanctity, and opportunity for reflection, worship, and renewal.

May this sacred month bring us closer to Allah ﷻ and allow us to begin the year with sincerity and purpose.

ATTENTION: If you are in or around Liverpool today. Especially important to be aware of if you have a safety phone as part of your safety plan.

A new national warning system, AusAlert, will be tested in the Liverpool area tomorrow afternoon. The test will take place at 4pm in the vicinity of Heathcote Rd and Newbridge Rd.

If you are within the test area, or neighbouring suburbs including Liverpool, Moorebank, Warwick Farm, Milperra and Casula, your device, such as mobile phones, tablets and smart watches, may receive a test alert.

Devices may vibrate and play a siren-like warning sound for about 10 seconds. The message will clearly state it is a test. You do not need to take any action.

This is a part of planned trials of the new system, which is designed to deliver faster alerts, reach more people and remain reliable even during network congestion.
