We are a low-barrier centre, which means women can still be struggling with addiction and mental health issues and as long as they're safe to come into the house, they're welcomed at Lou’s. Safety, stability, dignity and connection matter at every age.

Today at NSW Parliament, Lou’s Place shared frontline insights into the growing challenges facing older women experiencing hardship, housing insecurity and social isolation.

Our CEO, Amanda Greaney, spoke with MPs about the realities many women face every day, including homelessness, domestic and family violence, financial hardship, poor health and trauma.

The launch of our Older Women Matter booklet highlighted why community, connection and practical support are so important in helping women rebuild their lives.

Over the past year, Lou’s Place supported 1,392 women, including 224 women aged 55 and over. Thank you to the Parliamentary Friends of Empowering Older Women and everyone who joined us to help shine a light on experiences that are too often unseen.

May marks Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month, a time to acknowledge the reality many women face, and to stand together in support and understanding.

At Lou’s Place, we support women at all stages of their journey. Whether they are seeking a safe space, practical support, or simply connection, our doors are open - without judgement.

We know that leaving or seeking help is complex. It takes time, courage, and the right support.

This month, we honour the strength of the women we walk alongside every day, and reaffirm our commitment to providing safety, dignity, and care.

If you or someone you know needs support, please reach out. You don’t have to navigate this alone.

Featured on this morning, journalist Aimee Edwards spoke with our CEO Amanda Greaney and one of the *Women of Lou's, Darlene, about the support of Lou's Place for vulnerable women and the positive life changing effect it can have on women in crisis. And how our annual fundraiser, , is more than just a three-day fashion outlet.

A special thank you to Darlene for sharing her story.

Every day at Lou’s Place, women walk through our doors from across New South Wales.

Some come in for a meal and a moment of rest.
Others stay all day, because they simply have nowhere else to go.

What they all have in common is the need for a safe, welcoming space - somewhere they can be treated with dignity, without judgement.

Lou’s Place exists for exactly this reason. Whether it’s a hot meal, a conversation, or just a place to sit and feel human again, we meet women where they are.

This is the reality for too many women right now, and why places like Lou’s matter more than ever.

💙 Thank you for being part of a community that shows up.

Low barriers. Open doors.

At Lou’s Place, we believe support should be easy to access, not something women have to fight for.

There are no complicated referrals.
No long waitlists.
No judgement.

Just a safe space to walk into, where women are met with warmth, dignity, and immediate support.

Whether it’s a meal, a conversation, legal advice, or help navigating what comes next - it’s all here, in one place.

Because when a woman reaches out, that moment matters. And she deserves support right then.

Big thanks to 💙

Because of your generosity, women walking through our doors in crisis are able to access quality clothing helping restore not just dignity, but confidence at a time when they need it most.

Something as simple as fresh, beautiful clothing can be the first step toward feeling like yourself again.

We’re so grateful to have you as part of our community, standing beside women when it matters most. 💫
