A big thank you to all our wonderful CEIYEE Foundation volunteers who gave their time yesterday to serve the community. You went from home to home distributing plastic bags and educating families about proper waste disposal and the importance of keeping their surroundings clean.

A clean environment is essential for good health. Unclean surroundings and stagnant water can become breeding grounds for mosquitoes and contribute to malaria and other illnesses.

We are incredibly proud of every volunteer who showed leadership, compassion and initiative. Your dedication is helping us build cleaner, safer and healthier communities in Liberia.

May God richly bless each of you for your selfless service. A big shout-out to the entire team—thank you once again! 💚🇱🇷

🇱🇷 HAPPY NATIONAL FLAG DAY, LIBERIA! 🇱🇷

Today, August 24, Liberians at home and throughout the world proudly celebrate our beloved national flag—the Lone Star.

August 24 was chosen because Liberia’s national flag was first officially raised on this day in 1847, following our declaration of independence. In 1915, the National Legislature declared August 24 an annual public holiday to promote patriotism, national pride, unity and loyalty to Liberia.

Our beautiful flag was designed and produced by a committee of seven courageous and visionary Liberian women led by Mrs Susannah Lewis.

❤️ Red: Represents the blood and sacrifices of those who died in the struggle for Liberia’s independence.

🤍 White: Represents purity of mind and the sincere intentions of our forebearers toward one another.

💙 Blue: Represents the continent of Africa and Liberia’s place within it.

⭐ The Lone White Star: Represents Liberia as Africa’s first independent republic and a shining symbol of freedom.

🇱🇷 The Eleven Stripes: The six red and five white stripes represent the eleven signers of Liberia’s Declaration of Independence.

At CEIYEE Foundation, we believe patriotism is demonstrated not only by raising our flag, but also by serving our communities and protecting our environment. As our volunteers encourage proper waste disposal, let us remember that keeping Liberia clean, healthy and beautiful is everyone’s responsibility.

May the Lone Star continue to shine brightly over a peaceful, united and prosperous Liberia.

Joyce, it was such a pleasure meeting you. You were so kind, welcoming and lovely to me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak about the CEIYEE Foundation during your amazing program.

🇱🇷 CELEBRATING FLAG DAY THROUGH COMMUNITY SERVICE 🇱🇷

On Monday, 24 August 2026, the CEIYEE Foundation Monrovia Team will carry out a community clean-up and distribute 100 waste-collection bags to 100 homes in Joe Bar and LBS Community, Paynesville City.

As we celebrate Liberia’s Flag Day, we encourage everyone to clean their yards and help keep our communities clean, safe, and healthy.

Meet One of Our Dedicated Volunteers, Princess White Stevens

Princess is a Medical Laboratory Technologist whose profession has taught her patience, precision, discipline, compassion and the importance of getting things right.

Beyond her work in healthcare, Princess has a genuine passion for education and community service. She believes that success is not only about what we achieve for ourselves, but also about the lives we touch and the difference we make in the lives of others.

As a volunteer with CEIYEE Foundation, Princess gives her time, knowledge and compassion to support communities and help create meaningful change. She understands that even a helping hand, a listening ear or simply being present for someone can make a lasting difference.

In this video, Princess shares why she chose to volunteer and what serving others means to her.
