Zonta Club of Sydney East Area inc The Zonta Club of Sydney East Area inc is a local club working towards advancing the status of women It was established in 1979.

Zonta International is a world wide organisation of 31,000 members, who are executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women through service and advocacy. The Sydney East Area Club is part of ZI District 24 of NSW and Canberra. Each club contributes to the service projects and advocacy initiatives by which we advance the status of women and girls everywher

e. Clubs welcome support from and involvement with a wide variety of people and groups in their local communities. Zonta is derived from Lahkota a language of Native American Sioux People and means Trustworthy & Honest. The emblem is a combination of symbols and it was adopted in 1919 by a group of successful executives and professionals to symbolise trust, honesty inspiration and the ability to work together.
