BRAD has grown bigger than we could have ever imagined. 🌱
It started with 3 boxes in a backyard, and now it’s a nationwide recycling program with 80 boxes a day and our very own Sustainability Hub.
We’re running workshops, creating our very own recycled products, and keeping tonnes of plastic waste out of landfill - by giving thousands of Australian households, schools, offices and communities another option than just the red bin.
But in order to ensure BRAD can continue running, we need to make some changes.
From July 1, the cost of some of our BRAD labels will be increasing - for the first time in 6 years.
We know that’s not easy to hear, and it’s not a decision we’ve made lightly.
But Australia Post keeps raising its prices. Fuel costs are rising. And we, a fully independent, self-funded social enterprise with zero government support, have been absorbing as much of that as we possibly can - because we believe every Australian deserves access to responsible recycling, no matter where they live.
These small changes to some BRAD options are what will allow BRAD to keep making an impact.
The good news? The 4kg digital label is staying the same price. Drop-offs at the Hub remain our cheapest option at just $10. And nothing changes until July 1.
BRAD vouchers will be phasing out too - but they’ll still be valid until the end of the year. Our mission was never to make you buy more stuff. It was always about doing more with less, and living with more intention, and we want the way we operate to reflect that. 💚
BRAD exists because you exist. Because you showed up, sent in your blister packs and beauty products, and refused to accept that these items were destined for landfill.
Because of you, we’ve made such an incredible impact for our planet over the past 6 years. And we’re not done yet. Not even close.
Whether you’ve sent one box, or twenty - thank you. All the good we’ve done wouldn’t be possible without you.
Here’s to a whole lot more of it. 🌏💚
