Sydney Animal Rescue Inc. A Sydney based group providing rescue, fostering, rehabilitation and adoption of companion animals at

Sydney Animal Rescue Inc.'s Objectives:

•To rescue companion animals from Australian pounds, who are classified as urgent because they are due to be euthanised, require duty of care due to medical needs, or are at high risk of contracting illness due to low immunity (e.g. kittens and puppies less than 12 weeks old, senior dogs and cats).

•To accept private surrenders of companion animals and col

ony cats and kittens if they are likely to fall into one of the above high risk categories, if they would be surrendered to a pound.

•To provide home based foster care to rescued animals, where all their medical and rehabilitation needs will be effectively and efficiently met, prior to adoption into suitable homes.

•To reduce the number of unwanted companion animals in Australia, by spaying all animals in foster care prior to adoption, unless a qualified Veterinarian advises against this due to high medical risks.

•To reduce the risk of adopted animals returning to the pound system or dying prematurely of unnatural causes, by ensuring all adoption requests undergo a screening assessment to determine their suitability.

•To have a coordinated, efficient and quality system of rescue, foster care and adoption, in order to keep time spent in foster care to a minimum and in turn, maximise the number of animals rescued each year.

•To make all decisions with the best interest of the rescued animal’s health and wellbeing as priority.
