Sometimes racial discrimination can be hard to recognise. It can also be easy to write off your reaction to discrimination as “overreacting”.

That's why we produced these posters showcasing everyday examples of racial discrimination in partnership with Inner West Council.

Marrickville Legal Centre is proud to share our 2026-29 Strategic Plan- a roadmap to strengthen free legal support for the communities we serve, modernise our service delivery and build towards a ten-year vision for equal access to justice.

Since 1979, MLC has provided free and accessible services to people too often overlooked by our legal systems. More than four decades later, our commitment to that mission is stronger than ever.

Over the life of this Strategic Plan 2026–2029 and our broader ten-year vision, MLC will invest in modernising the way we work. We will harness technology and innovation to reach more people and ensure that no one in our community is turned away simply because demand exceeds our capacity.

Today is Wear It Purple Day, an event founded in response to countless stories of LGBTQIA+ youth facing bullying and discrimination. The day has become a powerful international movement aimed at providing a public show of love and support to rainbow young people.

Young LGBTQIA+ Australians face significant risks of injustice compared to the rest of the population, and it is up to organisations such as ourselves to improve this vulnerable community's access to justice.

If you’ve fallen behind on your strata levy payments, there are many pathways to pay your overdue levies in payment plans. You can also make a request to waive your interest.

Imagine taking legal advice from someone who isn’t an expert and doesn’t understand every aspect of your situation - that's what happens when you take legal advice from AI! Only a qualified lawyer can help you understand your rights and obligations as a strata owner.

If you are being chased for a debt in NSW, it is important to first check if the debt is old before replying. You may not need to pay a debt that’s more than 6 years old.

Getting legal advice from AI might seem like a quick fix, but the responses are often wrong and do not consider your specific needs and situation. Only a qualified lawyer can help you understand your rights and obligations under the law.
